From this taaruf session, I found out that there were students from the same university as me from my previous education.

what I get from this course and task briefing is:

• if we don't attend one day in this usrah session, we can get a barred letter

• For the assignment briefing, there will be two assignments that students must complete to pass this usrah.

• First, the e-portfolio task, which is an individual task that needs to be done every week

• Second, the role-play task is a group assignment that needs 4/5 members in one group. For this task, the group can choose whether to do a poster or a video, and the title cannot be same with other groups.

• What is Usrah?

= From this question, most of the students answered the same answer, which is that Usrah is a family

• What is the function of usrah?

= Usrah has a lot of functions, such as supporting others that in need, sharing knowledge, knowing others, and more

• Have you heard about usrah before entering IIUM?

= Half of the students said yes (70%) and no (30%). For me, I have been participating in usrah since secondary school, diploma, and degree, since I came from an Islamic School.

These are some of the points they gave:

'What you can do':

• listen while Sister Aisyah is giving a lecture

'What you can't do':

• Do not talk with your friends while Sister is giving a lecture

• Do not do other things when in a Usrah session, such as doing other assignments that are not related to Usrah

• Do not eat heavy meals while in the Usrah session

p/s: I learned that adab will always come first in everything we do because adab shows our attitude and personality. Hence, as an Islamic student, our adab needs to be aligned with our knowledge. Even Imam Syafi'e learned adab for 10 years, which shows that adab is a significant moral values that need to be improved everyday.

Our first face-to-face usrah session. For this week's session, we need to bring along an A4 paper that already has our nickname written on it with and Sister Aisyah recommends that we design according to our creativity.

• Presentation ( The Miracles of the Quran)

Interpreting Surah Al Rahman:

This Surah reminds us of the blessings that Allah has given us. So, it is good to read this Surah when we have just received blessings from Allah. If we are afflicted with hardship, then this Surah also reminds us that even though we are in hardship, many blessings have been received and are still being received.

It is a Makkiah Surah (revealed in Mecca). Some also say it is a Madaniyah Surah (revealed in Medina). But if we look at the subject presented in this Surah, it is more suitable as a Makkah Surah. It was revealed at the end of the Prophet's time in Mecca before the migration to Medina.

p/s: It was a fun game because it challenged our memory to remember the different names and trademarks of every member

Sister Aisyah suggests that anyone who would like to volunteer to present on their choices of topics. Sister Aisyah picked two names randomly, and I volunteered to present my topic because it feels nice to share the information that we feel is important for others to know

• Women overcome the man's; the mobility of the sperm-carrying female chromosomes is doubled.

• If the characteristic masculinity is overcome, the result is male and vice versa

• The prophet clarified that this bleeding is not menstruation but from a blood vessel (istihadhah)

• Therefore, a Muslim woman should only stop praying during actual menstruation and resume prayers after washing once the menstrual period ends

• The function of skin is to feel all kinds of touch, heat, and pain

• Advancement of anatomy revealed the truth that not all parts of the body feel pain (only the skin is the source of the pain)

• Allah keeps on reminding the non-believers to keep on the right path. Those who reject guidance from Allah (disbelievers) will be punished in the hereafter. For example, Allah will burn them repeatedly until they are completely burnt. But they think that they will only feel the pain once, but Allah has mentioned in the Quran that their skin will be replaced with a new skin so that they can feel the same pain over and over again.

• Tadabbur Surah Luqman

• Hadith 8: Islam ,Iman and Ihsan

• Presentation of two groups 2 (Islam) and 4 (Iman)

• In terms of shari’ah or Islamic terminology, shirk means ascribing a partner or rival to Allah in Lordship (rububiyyah), worship, or in His names and attributes.

• There are two types of Syirik, which are:

  1. Syirik Jali (Clear)

     • Example: Worshiping idols, Worshiping the sun, moon, or stars, Asking for help from the dead or other than Allah SWT, Uniting God (shirk tab'id), and Determining the existence of two or more gods (shirik istiqlal).

  2. Syirik Khafi (Hidden)

     • Riak (doing good deeds for people)

     • Taqlid (following others without knowledge)

     • Asking for help other than Allah SWT (shirk taqrib)

     • Attributing effects to causes (shirk asbab)

     • Doing good deeds for someone other than Allah SWT (shirk aghrad)

This hadith is also known as Hadith Jibreel (Angel Gabriel). The hadith tells the story of Jibreel (as) when he came to the Prophet (sas), asking a set of questions. The Prophet (sas) responded to those questions and then addressed his companions. There is a door called “Baab Jibreel” at Masjid An-Nabawi in Madina. It is known as the door that Jibreel (as) came in to ask the Prophet (sas) these questions.

Scholars consider Islam, Iman, and Ihsan the three stages in the path towards Allah (swt):

1. The first path is you force yourself and bring yourself to do those actions that you know Allah wants you to do.

2. The second level is iman, where you are not only doing those actions, but you are strengthening your relationship with Allah (swt) and you’re beginning to taste the sweetness of your relationship with Allah.

3. The third level is the level of Ihsan, which is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and even if you cannot see Him, to know that He sees you. So, you are moving in this path, this journey, towards the Divine. And in doing so, it’s getting more and more intense.

• This refers to the freedom that Allah has granted to mankind to believe or not to believe in Him. Otherwise, He could have very easily created all the people as born believers and obedient servants, and there would have been no disbelief and disobedience at all on the earth. Or He could have very easily inspired them to turn towards belief and obedience. But these methods would have defeated the wisdom that underlies the creation of mankind.

• This does not at all mean that the Prophet (peace be upon him) desired to force people to become believers, and that Allah was forbidding him to do this. The Quran has here adopted the same method of admonishing the people that it has adopted at many other places, that is, though the words have been addressed to the person of the Prophet (peace be upon him), these have been addressed to the people.

• How to practice ourselves to prepare for the hereafter:

- This warns against arrogance, pride, and a pursuit of materialism over spirituality and humility

- We as Muslims need to always remind ourselves that this world is not forever. The hereafter and heaven are our goals. This world is a place where we do good deeds to get a reward from Allah SWT.

• The issue related to Hari Kiamat is about every country racing to build a high building.

I would like to thank you, Sister Aisyah, for all the effort she made throughout this Urah session. I really appreciate your effort to play a game with us. I wish you all the best in your life, may Allah ease everything that you do, amin. And also, I would like to apologise if there is a behaviour that makes you uncomfortable during the Usrah session. Why is adhering to the pillars of prayer crucial? Firstly, to create a feeling of submission to Allah. Secondly, achieve prayer validity and perfection every pillar serves as a crucial foundation for finishing the act of prayer. Also, develops mental and spiritual strength. A Muslim can develop a high degree of inner strength by continuously adhering to the proper pillars of prayer, which can also help them develop discipline, mental fortitude, and spiritual stability.
