Community members walked away with a better understanding of coalitions, coalitions walked away with practical tools, and Elevate walked away with a better understanding of the landscape of work happening across the state and coalition needs. If I could choose anything this year, it would be to expand on these events for 2026 and beyond. Last year, we saw how powerful in-person, face-to-face conversations can be. Having the funding and support to not only sustain but grow these events into the future is one of my biggest Elevate Kansas dreams.

Prevention efforts in Cowley County are lacking in the categories of mental health, alcohol, vaping, fentanyl, and marijuana. It would be an objective to promote evidence-based prevention programming throughout my county.

We have so many vacant buildings on our Mainstreet being used as storage. I wish I could show people the beautifully restored buildings with bustling businesses that lives in my head. I believe it can start one building at a time. It would be great to see just one more building loved and renovated to welcome a new business.
