The novel is put together like a skyscraper because the book is always connecting itself to another part and the book began with a good foundation like a skyscraper needs to support itself.

This is always a huge moment in all of the half-bloods lives. Also, when he was claimed by one of the big three gods is became even more special. 

Another important scene was when Percy and his mother drove to camp half-blood. This is really important because this is where Percy realizes he is something special. 

A scenario that is important is when Percy visits the Oracle. This is a big event because he is read what will happen on his quest. Which this worries him because he knows what will happen.

When Percy embarks on his long quest is very important. This is a huge moment because he is the first person in a very long time to ever be sent on a quest for the gods.
