I am Veronica Castillo! I am a HS graduate of Uvalde High School-Class of 1995. I did my undergrad at Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College. I started teaching in 2000 at Ted Flores Elementary in Pearsall. I taught the next year in Dilley and then came back home to my community to teach Kindergarten for my third year. I have been teaching in Uvalde for 22 years for a total of 24 years. I have taught kinder, first and second grade. My favorite is first grade, where I have taught the longest. I will be starting my 25th year of teaching in the classroom in August.

This is my beautiful family at Christmas in 2022. I recently lost my husband, Braulio on December 2, 2023. We were married for 25 years. We have two children, Katarina (25) and Joaquin (18).

This is my 25th class of students! I am missing a few but I am the proud teacher of this fine group of learners at Dalton Elementary. They are playing a Eureka! math game.

My son Joaquin just graduated high school in May. He was the drum major captain for the marching band. He was active in cross country and soccer. He will join the Air Force this Fall.

My Daughter

My daughter Katarina is an RN for our local hospital. She has two pugs and loves to travel. She is grown and flown and I am very proud of her.

This is my husband and I at Las Vegas in 2018. This is my favorite picture of us. I love and cherish all the great memories he gave to me. I miss everything about him.

Our Pets

We have 2 dogs, a bull terrier and an English bull dog. Zoey is 4 years old. Nux is the baby of the family. He is about one year and a half years old. They do not always get along so we have to keep them separated most of the time. They both have very different energy levels.

This summer my kids and I traveled to NYC for a fun filled trip to see most of the tourist sites.

We got to see TS in Houston on April 21, 2023! Fun fact: I missed my school's field day to attend the concert! I have no regrets!
