Egypt is found in the continent of Africa which is north of Sudan. The absolute location of Egypt is 26°N 30°E. A positive impact of this location is that is is close to water which can provide agriculture in some areas. Like near the Nile river, Egyptians farmed which could lead to surplus food and trade. Africa is a hotter continent so it can be a benefit and a drawback for Egypt. The hot climate of Africa can create a natural barrier for Egyptians and prevent invaders. The drawback of the climate is that it can be hard to find food because water is hard to access in some areas of Egypt.

Most of Egypt has a hot and dry desert climate. Some of the benefits in this climate is that the heat and landform creates a natural barrier that can prevent attackers from coming to Egypt. Hot and dry desert climates like Egypt also have some drawbacks. Some drawbacks of the desert climate are that there is less water so there is not much fertile soil. This means there is less food and not much agriculture which can hurt a civilization living in the desert climate.

The most important resources are natural gas, coal, oil, petroleum, limestone, and iron ore. These resources help society because they can be used for many different things. For instance, limestone can be used to build houses and limestone was also used to build the great pyramids. Natural gas, oil, petroleum, and coal can be used to power machines or vehicles. Iron ore can be used to make tools to help people build or farm. These resources are also valuable because they are non-renewable so they can be used for trade. Some of these resources like gas, oil, and coal are mostly used to power machines and they can pollute the air which is bad for the environment and society.

Some of the most important sea ports in Egypt are Port of Alexandria, Port of Damietta, Port Said, Port of Suez, Port of Adabia, Port of Safaga, and Port of Ai Sokhna. The theme that is most important for Egypt is human-environmental interaction. Egyptians adapted to the desert climate and used the fertile soil from the Nile river to farm and trade. The Nile river provided fertile soil which led to access to agriculture. The river connects to many different countries for trade. The heat and landform of the desert in Egypt also created a natural barrier making it hard to attack. The drawbacks of the geography in Egypt is mostly because of the desert’s climate. The heat can make living there hard and the sand there can cause sandstorms. Sometimes the Nile river can flood and destroy homes.
