I was very nervous for my first observation lesson, however as a whole I was quite pleased with it. The warm up was fun and all the students were engaged. All students did exactly what I asked for and when doing this showed lots of enthusiam, as well as all meeting the objectives. I set clear teching points and progressive drills, however one thing I definitely need to work on is differientation. I need to have lots of different drills for the lower ability and higher ability to meet all students needs. I feel as though I have a good rapport with the students already which is good considering I have only been here for 3 weeks.

I was really pleased with this lesson, it was an expectation lesson as well as team building activities. All students communicated well and really helped each other which was very nice to see. I did this in aid to build better relationships between the students as well as better relationships between me and the students. I would definitely do this sort of lesson again.

Straight away I got the class into an ability line so they could spend the rest of the lesson working in differentiated groups. This helped the students and myself massively as I could give them different volleyballs as well as different drills to practice, for example, some groups needed a bounce first when performing the dig while other groups didn't. I would definitely use this differientiated strategy again.

Throughout this lesson I thought my theory content was very good, I recapped what I've already taught them and also introduced new theory. The girlsare out the changing rooms in 5 minutes with their hair up and earrings out and 27/28 girls completed their homework which shows they respond well to me. My use of non-doers was a lot better then the lesson before as she was actually involved, she become a feeder as one group was a player short and I also gave her Passmores points to give out to the student that worked the hardest and to the student that improved the most. My differientation was much better, I stretched my higher ability as well as aiding the lower ability.

I was very pleased with this lesson. 3 students lead a class warm up, all the students listened and completed the warm up. Throughout this lacrosse block the students have made massive progress and every lesson they make even more, applying different skills into their game play. I was very happy with how I taught the skill 'shooting' using 'BEEF' balance, eyes, elbows and footwork, all the students remembered this. I also got the students to coach each other which was very effective and something I will use in my future lessons.

This was the girls first Volleyball lesson. Straight away I had good behaviour management, the girls come in and sat in two straight lines as well as responding well to all my instructions. This lesson I also used a little bit of humour as it shows I have a good rapport with this class. All of the Volleyball drills worked well and got harder showing progress however as it was their first lesson in Volleyball I found it slightly harder to differientiate. So next time I would differentiate straight away. If I did this lesson again I would use targetted questionning as well as higher order thinking for my slightly higher ability girls

I have been teaching the girls a block of Volleyball, however during the last week of the block the girls were getting a bit bored of Volleyball, so for this lesson I decided to do half Volleyball and half Bench Ball. I was shocked that the girls responded so well to it not only did they enjoy playing Bench Ball they also enjoyed playing Volleyball. I would definitely do this again as it keeps the girls engaged and actually doing PE even if I did have to mix it up slightly and do two different sports.

Throughout our Netball block, I used a different variety of ways of getting the girls into teams. This was so the girls were working with different girls each lesson and it worked really well. Some lessons I got the girls to pick their own teams, I put them into teams, sometimes they paired up and then put into teams and also they played in their houses. I think this worked really well and I will definitely use them all again.

This lesson was my IRIS observation, and my first ever lesson teaching badminton. The lesson went well, I taught the class how to set up and put away a badminton court, however this was quite time consuming. I also taught them thr grip, and did all different drills to get used to the feel of a shuttle. I would do this lesson again however I would have drills going on while I have other students setting up the courts as there was a bit of standing around waiting. All the students had fun and made progress

The students were writing off a powerpoint and discussing the questions I had asked. However the students did make good progress, I did a Kahot at the beginning of the lesson and at the end and most students went from 1 out of 6 to 4 and above out of 6. Next time I would use the use of drawings, writing on tables, white boards, relay races etc.

We did a one off trampolining lesson and they absolutely loved it. They all listened and worked really hard, and there was zero bickering. I went through how to use all the equipment etc, we then spoke about heart rate and took our resting heart rate. I set numerous challenges on the board for them to complete, for example, loose 30 calories on the running machine, complete 30 pull ups etc, during this we took our working heart rate.

This was the girls first throwing lesson in athletics. I was very firm when going through the health and safety points. I was very clear that we have a safety cone and a throwing cone and explained that this will be the same every throwing lesson. I will definitely do this for all my groups when doing either discus, javelin or shot put. All the girls started off with an under arm roll, then progressed on to a under arm through then finally a standing discus throw. All the girls progressed and got a measured throw in each, however this lesson lacked differentiation, all the girls progressed to the next skill at the same time, this is mainly because of health and safety. Throughout the lesson i made sure the girls remembered 3 important words, PREPARE, THROW, COLLECT. Questionning was asked throughout not only on health and safety but more technical discus questions talking about angle of release, transferring weight etc. I also did lots of visual demonstrations which I would also do again.

I decided to do the 1500m with my year 9 girls group. Before any of the girls could moan I mentioned how important it is that we do this and that people run marathons with washing machines on their back etc. I gave the girls 3 options, however there was no option to walk at any point. First option, you stop for 1 minute after every lap, second option, you run half then stop for 30 seconds then complete the rest, third option you run the whole 1500m without stopping. After the girls had chose what they was going to do, I said to them that there is no walking what so ever and if there is or even 1 student does not put any effort in we will do it again next lesson. The girls then really motivated each other to just get it done and that will be it. I was so impressed by their hard work and determination. All of the girls helped each other which was really nice to see ad they all did excellently. I would definitely take this approach again when telling my students they are going to do the 1500m. It was nice to see that the girls actually enjoyed it after too.

I was not best pleased with this lesson. I made a silly mistake by letting the girls get their own discus's which meant I started explaining the health and safety points but there was still girls in the container getting their disucs. I had to start again about 4 times. So next time I would make sure I give them a disus. I also could of brought a lot more information in about throwing a discus for example power and speed, I would definitely do that next time. Also do not be afraid to get a student to demo a throw instead of me everytime!!!

This lesson worked really well, the students were all engaged with their work and worked really hard. I had a progress line on the board where they moved their name up after they completed each section. Not only did this benefit them and kept them motivated (as chocolate was a prize at the end) but also helped me so I could keep track easily and give help to the ones falling behind which I did. I also asked questions to check understanding. I had work sheets at the back of the room with different tasks also, this I would do again with this group. One thing I would explain more is 'put it into your own words' as some of the students were literally just copying and pasting.

This group love Danish Long Ball and love the competition bit of it, so I decided to play 3 games, after every game the loosing team will get a forefit, for example, 10 press ups. The group loved it and I would definitely do this with them again.

During this lesson the behaviour was terrible as well as the bickering. So I got them all in and said how disappointed I was. I gave them all a warning and said I will be setting detentions and phoning home. After I sat them all down their behaviour massively improved.

This was the girls second javelin lesson. We quickly recapped the grip and ther teaching points for a standing throw. Throughout the lesson i did a demonstration as well as a student demonstration. There was a strong numeracy link throughout the lesson, I let the girls know that the javelin is 2.2m long, I then showed them how to measure each throw by using the javelin, they then had to X their number to 2.2m. I will 100% do that activity again.

This lesson was the girls first sprinting start lesson. The girls spent a lot of the lesson using work sheets and I would go round and check their learning, every now and then I got them all in and asked questions as well as student and teach demonstrations. At the end I finished on the Usain Bolt challenge, I got the girls to run with a cone and after 9.58 seconds (his world record) they dropped the cone, this was really just to get them to appreciate how fast he is, the girls loved it. I made sure the lesson had good pace throughout, there was lots of rewards and target questionning was also evident. I was really happy with this lesson.

During this 4x400m lesson I got the girls to look on youtube at how different the relay changeover is in the 4x400 compared to the 4x100m relay. The girls really took to this as they got to see a perfect example of the 4x400m relay and learnt the rules and tactics very quickly.

This was my last lesson with my year 9 girl group, so we went straight into a rounders game. The girls have been an absolute pleasure to teach and I do hope I get them next year. Before the roudners game the girls got into pairs, this is purely so they have a friend on their team. We did timed innings and the game was really close. Loosing team got a forefit which the girls really take to as none of them want to get the forefit.
