The first time my family travelled to Medellin was when I was around 5 or 6 years old. This was the start of a tradition in which we travel back to Medellin every summer to enjoy the beach and spend quality time together. Because of this, I see Medellin as my 2nd home and I love to go there every summer. All good memories in Medellin.

When I transferred to Ateneo in grade 7, I realized the environment and the people were very different from my previous school. Many of my classmates were quite friendly and genuine. This made me want to become a better person. Now, I try to reflect on my actions every new year and see how I can be better towards others and myself.

I was able to join the Summer of Service program in school in the summer before grade 8. I was very shy and a little intimidated as my workplace was in Ayala and I live in Consolacion (my parents had to drive and pick me up). But, through this experience, I was able to see the perspective of retail workers and some of the challenges they face. It was especially challenging for me to communicate with costumers as I am not fluent in Bisaya. Nevertheless, I really appreciate all the kind customers, and co workers, who were patient and understanding with me. This experience reminded me to be kind to everyone and stay humble.

First school year in Blue TAG

Honestly, I wasn't very sure at first if I wanted to audition for TAG because I was also thinking of starting a sport (swimming) in school. In the end, I auditioned for TAG and I fell in love with theater and all the work put behind a production. I met many kind and talented people. At grade 7, I was already inspired to become to future TAG President (and I did become the president in Grade 10). Today, I am so honored to be the SPOTLIGHT Governor.

Honors Class

When I became part of the honors class in grade 8, my mindset really changed. I remember feeling like I didn't deserve to be part of the honors class as I wasn't really working hard academically in the previous school year (I was one of two students in the class who didn't receive a medal). But I started to realize that instead of sulking, I should focus on proving to my classmates and myself that I deserved to be in that class. Throughout the year, my class learned we weren't the toxic competitive type, so I'm grateful for having that kind of environment. I am also thankful that I remained in the honors class til' the end (grade 10).

Second (official) boyfriend

It's pretty cliche I know, but this relationship really taught me a lot about myself. When it ended, I learned to focus on myself; I had decided that I didn't want another relationship anytime soon and that I want to focus on my academics and my friends, especially, for the remaining school years I have with them. This relationship also helped me realize how I should be treated (hehe my boyfriend now is the best).

Severed a friendship

this was really heartbreaking for me. I recently became friends with this new student in grade 11, and we became reallyyyy close to the point we would actually call pretty often. But certain things had happened and I ultimately decided to end the friendship. This actually taught me a lot about healing. I was really sad the day I ended it but I believed I would get better over time. Most of the time I would forget about him, but some days I would remember and be in a pretty down mood. I was able to learn, however, that its okay to put myself first over my loyalty to my friends (I still love all my friends now ofc, but now I remember that I should ultimately be my first priority).
