In the beginning, the legislative branch was the Senate, a group made up of 300 citizens from Rome's patrician class, the oldest and wealthiest families of Rome.

2.The three main parts of the government were the Senate, the Consuls and the Assemblies. The Senate was composed of leaders from the patricians, the noble and wealthy families of ancient Rome. They were the law makers.

3.They had a king but, the patricians tired of obeying the king who was named Tarquinius Superbus. Therefor they revolted and threw him out. That is why they made the 3 branches of government.
