When taking on a peaceful protest you can make great alliances that can help your business, company, country grow. The author hints that people would question violent protest and i agree they would because the effectiveness is not always good.We can use our voices to ignite and make change in a positive way.

In Excerpt 1 it states, "But, Rabrenovic says, one thing is clear: in order for a movement to gain support and inspire lasting change, peace and consensus are essential." This quote shows that having peaceful protests are better because they can gain support and inspire people. In the other hand, people may say violent protests are better. But if you have a violent protest, you will not gain support from any source.

"in the 1960s, regions featuring nonviolent protests by black civil rights activists saw increased Democratic voting by whites". But when people protest violently they might think that at first it is going good, but that's not true because they will end up having no sources and no support, instead people will be mad because of all the problems it can cause."at violence by protesters reduces public support for the protesters and can even erode support for the causes they support."

The author hints at the fact that non-violent protests are overall better and more effective than violent ones as well as giving us evidence to support that fact. In excerpt 2, the Author shows us a large number of evidence showing us that non-violent protests are more effective than violent ones, such as "in the 1960s, regions featuring nonviolent protests by black civil rights activists saw increased Democratic voting by whites." The quote shows us clear evidence, along with many other pieces of definitive proof that violent protests are less effective.

In this article my quote I picked from the text it stated “, Stephan and Chenoweth (2008) found that nonviolent movements were more effective at winning domestic and international support and at winning loyalty shifts within a regime’s security forces.” This means that making a big change in society or environment can change someone’s life or personality about themselves. Being heard or taking at stand can mean something and becoming a better person in that stand, you can change or know a lot by seeing and hearing people’s voices that’s being heard. People can make a change and cause no violence that can be a winning reward you the community or others because you adapt being a changed person.

Violent protests are not as effective as peaceful protests. This is shown in Excerpt 2 "People often forget the cause and focus on the violence. Overshadowed by the violence is the cause." This shows how violence in protests often overshadows and takes away from the actual protest as people become more focused on the violent acts being committed and those doing the violent acts are looking for more unjust things to do. In addition, peaceful protests have been seen to gain more support than violent protest, also supported by Excerpt 2 "nonviolent movements were more effective at winning domestic and international support" Therefore, peaceful protests are more effective than violent protests.

If people all over the world...would do this, it would change the earth.” and i agree
