In your gamification section, you write, "Games that purport to be educational don't optimize the features of popular games, resulting in a missed opportunity to engage learners." That has been my experience as well. Some of my go-to games for class weren't made for educational settings per se. Apples to Apples and Code Names are great for intermediate and higher-level English language students. I wonder what games other people co-opt for the classroom.

This question doesn't sound like behaviorism! (haha) I learned a lot from this presentation. For instance, I didn't know AI machine learnings mirror behaviorist approaches. I really enjoyed the videos and certainly feel like I have a much stronger grasp of the theory now. I hadn't realized how deeply we still have behaviorist roots in many parts of education, regardless of the loud shift away from the theory.

I really like the way you frame behaviourism and emphasize its observable nature and valid applications. In researching for my cognitivism presentation, I found that a lot of literature errs on being dismissive of behaviourism, presenting it as a simple, surface-level theory. Certainly, it is guilty of being reductionist, but it nonetheless has relevant applicability.

I'm also reminded of one of our readings, Reigeluth (2012), which describes industrial-age education as a mere sorting system. Was this a behaviourist approach to education, where students either responded with the desired behaviour or were flunked out and sent to the factory line?

I also laughed out loud when opted to skip ahead.

Thanks for sharing your presentation, filled with creative elements. I particularly enjoyed the sound effects of the quiz, the “uh oh” when selecting an incorrect response and a successful ping when correct was a perfect fit for behaviorism! I was familiar with the basics of behaviorism prior to interacting with your site, but appreciated how you provided relevance to contemporary classrooms! (Cassidy)
