I think this quote is pretty accurate, a lot of people in America have really bad views on Islam after the 9/11 attacks, even though very few Muslims are terrorists. People tend to just label Islam as being a terrible thing, and in doing so, they warp what Islam is.

They don't want to stand up for what is happening because they are afraid of getting hurt or even making it worse. I think this quote is true to what is happening today around the world. I agree, unfortunately this is true. After events such as 9/11, such an awful thing being done by people who claimed to practice the Islam faith, it has definitely caused a lot of fear and discrimination towards Islamic people.

I think that is shows how people often prematurely form opinions about religions or parts of the world that they haven't ever experienced based on what they see in the news. Also many people don't try to educate themselves further about the truth behind Islam and are just set in their ways of thinking that it's bad.

I think people still misunderstand islam because of things that happened in the past like terrorist attacks. I don't think it is as prevalent as it was in the past but it does still happen.

I think that history scars some views of different societies and religions. Some people look at the actions of a few people and don't see the greater good of the community. I believe that this statement is still true today and Islam is suffering from misunderstanding and the past actions of different groups in their religion. However they do not deserve to be hidden behind the veil of fear and should not be looked at differently than they have been in the recent generations.

I think a lot of people get afraid of Arabic people, examples of where people get uncomfortable, are pretty much everywhere, there are videos of Arabic people getting thrown off the plane, because people are afraid of them in airports because they generalize people off what a couple of people did on 9/11/2001.

I believe that this quote is true in regard to present interpretation of the faith's history- the actions and events of Islam's formation and growth have been soured and twisted by modern conjecture on the militant, sexist nature of certain Islamic sects. If you look at all Muslims through the lense of violent radicalism, of course it will all look negative. American's understanding of the Islamic Faith after 9/11 took a dark turn, and the West has further been conditioned to fear the spread of Islam through tragedies like the Iranian Hostage Crisis, Paris Bombing, and the Taliban Reoccupation of Afghanistan. However, while the West as a bloc may harbor much bias towards Islam, it is important that we as individuals meet each person where they are at spiritually and humanly.

Yes this is true but they also have some parts of their culture that are directly incompatible with western ideals of extreme individualism and women being people. Islam has been misconstrued through the actions of some extremist groups and long lasting Catholic bias as a result of the crusades (which were catholic insitgated btw).

I believe that this quote is mostly accurate. When people look at Islam people think of all the bad events that has occurred in the past such as 9/11. And so people til this day label Muslims as dangerous which is false because not all Muslims are terrorists only a few but now in days I feel there is a lot of stereotyping going on now in the world.

This quote represents the sad reality that many people don’t truly understand Islam and what it stands for. Many people see the terrorist attacks and places that on every single Muslim, despite it being such a small minority. People see someone that even looks Arabic, and they assume they’re automatically a terrorist. We need to change this by learning who they are and what Islam stands for.

I believe that we still live in fear and misunderstanding with not only practitioners of Islam, but eastern people. Especially with news being inundated with news reports of conflict between Israel and Palestine, Americans hear of the tragic circumstances of the east. And we are less likely to hear about the good islam and Islamic people have contributed to the world.

Most western people mainly Americans have a very strong opinion about the Islamic people since the actions of 9/11 have left a permanent impact on the western people and in that sense yes the western people do feel that all Islamic people are that way but we shouldn’t just view them that way because of a few people but instead forgive them since those actions were only done by a few corrupt people within that faith.
