Characters:

1. Emily - Nursing Student 1 (ari)

2. Jake - Nursing Student 2 (jonathan)

3. Sarah - Nursing Student 3 (Keysli)

4. Olivia - Nursing Student 4 (Milagros)

[The four nursing students are gathered around a patient’s bed. They’re about to administer medication to the patient under the supervision of a nurse.]

Emily: Alright, everyone, let’s make sure we’re all on the same page before we start. We’ve got Mr. Thompson here, and we’re supposed to administer 500 mg of Amoxicillin. Who wants to double-check the medication with me?

Jake: I’m on it. Let me see the label... (picks up the medication bottle) Yup, that’s 500 mg of Amoxicillin. The expiration date looks good, too. Everything checks out.

Sarah:(looking at the chart) And just to confirm, Mr. Thompson isn’t allergic to any medications, right? His chart says no known drug allergies.

Olivia: That’s correct, I remember from our briefing earlier. But let’s go over the five rights again—just to be safe.

Emily: Good call. So, the five rights: the right patient, the right medication, the right dose, the right route, and the right time. Mr. Thompson, you’re about to receive your medication. We’ll be giving it to you orally, okay?

Mr. Thompson: (nods)

Jake: I’ll pour out the dose. (carefully measures the medication into a cup) Here we go, 500 mg, all set.

Sarah: Before you give it, Emily, let’s do a quick check on Mr. Thompson’s vitals. We need to make sure everything’s stable.

Emily: Good idea. (takes Mr. Thompson’s vitals) Blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature are all within normal range.

Olivia: Perfect. So, we’re ready to administer. Go ahead, Emily.

Emily: (hands the cup to Mr. Thompson) Here’s your medication, Mr. Thompson. Take it with a sip of water. (Mr. Thompson takes the medication) Great job!

Jake: (writing in the chart) I’ll document the administration in his chart—500 mg of Amoxicillin given at 10:15 AM. Anything else we need to keep an eye on?

Sarah: Just watch for any reactions or side effects. But he should be fine since there’s no history of allergies. We’ll check on him in a bit.

Olivia: Sounds like a plan. Let’s make sure everything’s cleaned up and ready for the next patient.

[The students clean up and prepare to move on to the next task, satisfied with how smoothly the medication administration went.]

This roleplay includes common expressions and practices related to medication administration, emphasizing teamwork, safety checks, and clear communication.

<var></var>
