For this shoot i used the rule of odds. The technique I used was high key lighting, in the light box. Again, I used the black feathers to symbolise change as I want my still life photography shoot to interpret the theme of change.

This is one of the best imagine from the shoot I did in my opinion. I stuck with the rule of odds for the image and cropped out most of the background so the focus is on the feathers.

For this set of images I adjusted the white balance to show how using white balance can set the temperature and mood of a scene you're photographing. On these three images used AWB (auto), Tungsten light and white fluorescent light and you can clearly see the difference in shots.

Doing the light painting exercise shoot was fun, I shot this is a dark room and we created the light trails with the flash light of a mobile phone. The slow shutter speed and having the right aperture and ISO number allowed this effect to look like this.

This is my best image from this shoot in my opinion. For my still life project, I still want it all to symbolize change, that is why I've now got a butterfly in the midst of the feathers. A butterfly is another symbol of change. For this particular image, I cropped it in to improve the composition of the image as there was unwanted detail.

This is my final image. for this image I overlayed the butterfly to give a kind of fluttering effect, again to emphasise on the idea of change.

Rankins image of Grimes

From the second I set eyes upon this image of Grimes, photographed by Rankin, I instantly thought of outer space and extra terrestrial life. The mod of the image so mysterious and the lighting technique used, which had made her look pale is a main factor of why this photo makes me feel this way about it. The background Grimes has around her is also very interesting, the distorted flowers just add on to that mysterious feel I felt from first glance, I really like how her eyes have the same tone red as the background, it really tells you a lot about what Rankins and Gomes wanted to get across. Grimes her self is quite a creative, quirky person.

another image from Rankin that is really interesting. Rankin has called this set of his images he took, 'dazed and confused'. This image really shows that, for one, why is she in a field? why does the bear have two heads? The image actually leaves the viewer dazed and confused. Natural day light was used for the image and it has really worked well and the contrast from the sky has give it a high key look.

This is the result after I played around with the image on photoshop. I simply played around with the input levels of the starting image, until the image showed detail and had the perfect lighting.
