According to New Criticism, one cannot consider this to be true and one must view texts as independent art works.

Based on this comparison between movie and book, it is evident that certain facts and characters have been excluded from the movie, while in the book, these events and characters played some part in the story. However, I am of the belief that 'intentional fallacy' is a hard concept to consider. Even though minor differences exist between the two mediums, the overall intention stayed the same: to show the inter-relatedness of all things.
