A Face in the Night

After reading this story, I was horrified, and I couldn't imagine what happened to the male protagonist at that time. Although this is just a story, it is inevitable that people will be afraid of encountering such a thing in reality. This makes me afraid to walk alone at night, sometimes it is not superstition but really afraid of encountering. I felt like I met faceless people and I would faint and be scared to death on the spot. So I think walking in the dark at night should find some partners or in a crowd, not alone, even if you don't encounter ghosts, you may encounter bad people. But I'm still curious why the Night's Watch is faceless, and what does it matter?

‘The Cherry Tree’ talked about the story of Rakesh, his grandfather and the cherry tree. Rakesh lived with his family in village. Rakesh’s parents were keen that Rakesh should go to school. Then, he lived with his grandfather because there were no schools in the village. One day, Rakesh bought the cherries. By the time he reached the cottage, there were only three cherries left. Rakesh kept the last seed in mouth for some time until all the tang had gone. Rakesh and his grandfather decided to plant the cherry’s seed. After one year, it was about four inches high. But at the same time, the goat ate all the leaves and a worker cut the cherry tree in two. But the cherry tree had no intention of dying. The following year, there were small cherries on the tree. At the end of the story, Rakesh asked his grandfather what’s special about the cherry tree and his grandfather replied Rakesh that it is special because of the cherry tree planted by themselves. Through this story, i know that grandfather loved his grandchild so much. Because of this reason, Rakesh’s grandfather thought the cherry tree was important and special to him.

Because she did not sell a match, the little girl did not eat for a day. She was cold and hungry, she lit the first match and saw the warm stove; when she lit the second match, she saw the fragrant roast goose; she lit the third match and saw the beautiful Christmas tree; she strikes the fourth match and sees her long-lost grandmother. She was afraid that if the match went out, her grandmother would disappear like the stove, the roast goose, and the Christmas tree, so she lit a whole bunch of matches and wanted to keep her by her side. In the end, the little girl died with a smile on her lips, and no one would know the beautiful scene she saw at the last moment of her life.

The storyline embodies a level of playfulness and excitement beyond any child's wildest imaginings, and to this day, any protective parent, let alone an adventurous child, can be thrown into chaos. Of course, the book's success isn't just a delightful shenanigans. Skilled alliteration and beautiful rhythm make reading a pleasure. Inventions, rhythms, phrasing—all are timeless and can never be surpassed. The illustrations are unmatched in execution and design. Those old, tri-colored books look ridiculous today, but they're a good literary past that's long gone and should stay that way so they can be appreciated and admired.

Personal review : The Cat in the Hat are funny, and easy to read. There's a reason people from all generations are familiar with this book. This book is very fun to read. They all live on a farm. One day, a pig gives birth to about 11 piglets and Wilbur is the smallest among the piglets. Fern's dad decided to kill Wilbur because Wilbur is the smallest and he thinks that Wilbur couldn't live long. Lucky, Fern comes and stops him. At last, her dad agrees to let her keep Wilbur as a pet. After Wilbur's two-week-old birthday, it has been sent to Fern's uncle's farm. Wilbur doesn't happy to be there, and what it really wants on the farm is to have a friend. Then it meets Charlotte the spider and they became a best friend. Then the story of Charlotte saving Wilbur begins.

Personal Review: After reading this book, I feel touched because of the relationship between Wilbur and Charlotte. My favorite character in this book is Charlotte, because she is very kind and helpful. Charlotte really gives many help to save Wilbur. She uses her web to make the word on the web to make Wilbur special to the farmer so that Wilbur wouldn't get sold or killed. The part that I like the most is when Charlotte is about to die after laying eggs. Although Charlotte is about to die, she makes the last web with a word on it to let Wilbur win in the competition.

Lastly, I would recommend this book to my friend as it is awesome and it even has a cartoon video to watch if you're lazy to read.
(261words)

Not more than 150 words.

Synopsis: The world is half-dead. There is a disease floating around, spreading and eating away human's brain until they become a zombie kind called 'Crank'. An organisation, W.I.C.K.E.D. , is in charge to find a cure. They put the people who are immune to The Flare to a bunch of tests, killing many people in the process, in order to trace out a brain pattern of how the disease didn't affect them. The protagonist Thomas, Minho, Newt, Brenda and Jeorge have completed the tests, but the cure they are promised to receive from WICKED never came. They lied one time, two times, three times, lies after lies and made Thomas sick. They escaped and are on the way to a city called Denver, to work with the Right Arm, an organisation that is against WICKED.

Personal Review: In the process, one of Thomas's best friend, Newt caught the disease. The virus is consuming his brain and he didn't want to spread to anyone, so he left. I sobbed many many times on the things he said: "Kill me if you have to." "Please just leave." "I'm not going to leave the world knowing that I spread the disease to someone else." He's caring, amazing, the mother of the group, and he didn't want to create problems to anyone. I cried because he's always so considerate to his friends, he's such an angel and I love him a lot.

Next is Minho, he's dominant and always doesn't plan before act. Although he's a little impulsive, he's a straight forward person. One time when the female protagonist gets weird and mean, he points out that "I don't like you." directly at her, and I was screaming because I think that's wholesome, and because I didn't like her either. He's probably my favourite character, even if I hate him sometimes.

This story taught me about trust. If someone keeps lying to you and you know it, leave them. Staying will do no good to you. Besides, I also learnt some characteristics of a good friend and a bad one. I love the way the author portraits his character, his word choices and the plots. It made me feel like I really am in the story and I can relate to the characters. For example, when the protagonist's van is passing by a group of Cranks, the author describes, "No one in the van said anything, as if they were afraid that speaking would somehow alert the Cranks outside." I can feel the tension and I kept my breathing quiet. Another one is The Flare, it's like our Covid-19 right now, it's air-born and people needs to wear masks too.
(400 words)

I'll break it down for you with the details. Greg is a liar. He lied to his parents, teachers, friends and peers. He's not just a liar: he's a skilled, sneaky guy. For example, Greg would go to a friend's house to play video games when his father asked him to play outside. He then deceived his father by soaking himself in a sprinkler and appearing to have been running around and sweating. On another occasion, Greg cheated his friend's parents by secretly playing a banned violent video game in the context of an educational game. Greg has a rather sweet, slightly immature best friend, Raleigh, who manipulates and bullies him. He beat Raleigh with all the same moves his own brother used to beat him. He made fun of Raleigh's simple taste in video games and humor. At one point, he persuaded Rowley to repeatedly ride the big wheel downhill, while Greg threw a football at his head in an attempt to knock him out. This is a great friendship in the book, and I actually find it really sad to read.

But the book also has a lot of interesting stories, presenting the book in a hilarious diary style. His grandma didn't want to tell him at first, but he kept asking. So, she told him where the photo came from, but not who the girl in the photo was. But there is a part where the grandmother a lot of things about the photo, obviously the grandmother is the little girl in the photo. At the same time, the author also learned about the grandmother's past from the old photos, and the grandmother also recalled the past because of the old photos. I think it's a very beautiful thing. At first survival machines may consist of only protective shells, but when new enemies with better and more effective survival machines appear, survival becomes more difficult, so machines become larger and more elaborate.
