I choose this book because I had a friend who also read it, and told me it was really good. When I saw the book I remembered what she told me. I also had a gut feeling it was about teen pregnancy. Me and my mom used to watch Teen Moms on TV, and I really liked it. My reading goal in class is to finish this book by December. Outside of school my reading goal is to read 30 minutes every day and finish my book by Collen Hoover by December.

Unpregnant by Jenni Hendriks. Its been a interesting read so far. The story starts with a girl named Veronica in grade 12 whos very smart, and has lots of goals she wants to achieve after high school. Veronica finds out she's pregnant in the bathroom at school. Her emo ex best friend, Bailey, is in there also and finds out Veronica is pregnant too. Veronica doesn't tell her other friends because she thinks they will judge her. She had plans to study the whole weekend with her friends but makes plans with her boyfriend Kevin to tell him she's pregnant, and needs a drive to get a abortion. Things get super interesting when Veronica tells Kevin about the pregnancy. He admits he had planned the pregnancy, and poked holes in the condom so she could stay with him and not go to collage. I think thats super selfish of him he knows his girlfriend has lots of goals after highschool and is excited to go to collage but still does that just because he thinks she will leave him. He never thought about her feelings. Veronica gets very upset and leaves. She has no one to tell or ask for a drive to get the abortion. The only person who knows other then Kevin is Bailey so Veronica ends up asking Bailey to take her. Bailey agrees to take her. Surprisingly they become a lot more closer during the long drive. During the drive Kevin follows them to all the places they stop at to beg Veronica to keep the baby. I really like this book because its so interesting and fun to read. The characters all have very different personality's Veronica is very smart and kinda goody two shoes, Bailey is emo, very bold, and not scared to do anything, Kevin is athletic, full of himself, and kinda selfish. the story it filled with unexpected turns. I'm excited to see how Veronica and Bailey "friendship" goes, too see if Veronica ends up keeping the baby, and if Veronica ends up achieving her goals she had after high school.

The book Unpregnant by Jenni Hendriks is about a girl named Veronica who is 17 years old. She unexpectedly finds out she is pregnant and wants to get a abortion. Her hometown doesent allow abortions without parental permission, so Veronica has to travel to another town. She ends up going with her ex bestfriend Bailey, who helps her out even though they have a really complicated past. On their drive they have lots of challenging, awkward, and emotional moments happen to them. A quote from the book is “Youre not a mistake. You are a person making the best decision you can with what you got.” One of the best parts in the book in my opinion is that it talks about serious topics like abortions in a way that's super easy to understand. Another good thing about this book is how the author made the whole story even in the tough parts with humor which makes it fun to read. The friendship between Veronica and Bailey is also a good thing in the book it shows how people can change, grow, and even reconnect after falling out. The road trip is also a good part in the book it keeps it entertaining and interesting. Some not so good parts about the book are how some parts are pretty predictable and there are some parts that the story feels kinda rushed especially at the end where big problems get solved super quick. Overall the book Is super interesting and fun to read. It's an emotional story that also has lots of humor with serious things like abortions and friendships. But even with some of the flaws like being predictable and ending fast it's a meaningful story to read. I recommend this book to people who want to read something funny, emotional, and have interesting important life events in it. I give this book 4 stars.
