Cardinal traits; ones that dominate over all others, ones that define you. Then you have Central traits; these are the traits that are the basic foundations of personality "honest","shy", and "anxious". Lastly you have Secondary traits; these are the traits that affect attitude. So you may have to adapt to ones traits and personality. A strength of the trait theory is that you can use main traits as an advantage to guiding someone. Leadership is a learned behavior, it is not something you are just born with. Anyone can be a leader. The theory also seems to make every leader the same, which is not a way to make a successful leader.
