Disney: A 16 year old mermaid named Ariel wanted to go on land so she went against her father's (King Triton) rules and went on land. She then fell in love with a prince on land and only wanted to be with him. So she made a dangerous deal with Ursla who was the sea queen to become human for 3 days. Ursla tries to kill the prince and Ariel but she gets pierced and dies. King Triton turns Ariel into a human so she can marry the prince.

Original: The original story was from Denmark written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1837. The original title was "Den Lille Havfrue." The main difference between the original and the disney is the ending of the story. The disney movie ended happily and with a kiss between Ariel and the prince. However, in the original version, the ending shows that the prince ended up with another women and Ariel had to try not to kill him. The original is much more gruesome than the Disney version.

Theme: The similar theme is to be confident because if Ariel wasn't confident she wouldn't be able to confront Ursla in the first place.

On her way out she loses her glass slipper and the prince goes through the whole town to find the person with the glass slipper. Eventually, he found Cinderella and they got married and lived happily ever after.

Charles Perrault: This original version of this story is exactly the same version that Disney used. This is the first known story of Cinderella. The only difference is the title of the fairy tale. In the original version, it can be known as "Cendrillion" or "The Little Glass Slipper."

Theme:The similar theme between the Disney and original version is that beauty is not always in the outside because Cinderella was able to continue this terrible life without complaining and still forgave her stepsisters once she married the prince.

Although, in the end, their love ultimately overcomes everything else and they find a way to be together despite their differences. Through getting to know each other, they both learn more about the other's background and ways of life. This changes their mindsets and allows them to be more open to new ideas.

Original: John Smith was real as was Pocahontas, but John Smith and his colleagues treated the Native Americans horribly compared to how Disney portrayed this story. Pocahontas was only about ten years old at the time when John Smith colonized North America and John Smith lied about their whole romance in order to seem cool in his writings. He lied to seem like all the Native American women swooned over him and treated him as a god. In reality, he was not thought of that way and the two groups did not get along like the movie portrayed them to.

Theme- Looks can be deceiving.
