PJ Harvey’s debut Dry released in 1992 during the Grunge movement. It’s an interesting contrast to the genre from Seattle sound and bands like Nirvana. One song that I like on the album is Plants and Rags for its minimalistic acoustic guitar and focus on the story of the song (song writing)

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was a significant album for the band. They were dropped from their label only to be resigned to a subsidiary and releasing it on their website. A documentary was made on the album process which saw them move from alternative country to an experimental sound heavily contributed by Jay Bennett’s multi-instrumental songs.
