    • Colonial exports (sugar, tobacco, cotton, wool, indigo, ginger) shipped to England before re-exported to European ports
    • Duties payable when goods landed in England 
    • Goods from other countries passed through GB, taxed and then imported into colonies
    • Only English and colonial ships used for trade
