H-Wave therapy can be a game-changer in the life of chronic pain sufferers! H-Wave has been FDA-approved for 15 different uses, but what I want to focus on in this presentation is chronic pain relief and an alternative to pain medication prescriptions.

"H-wave device stimulation (HWDS) has moderate supportive evidence for treatment of acute and refractory chronic pain, consistently demonstrating improvements in function and pain measures across diverse populations "(Allen, etal., 2023).

A 2021 systematic review of HWDS clinical trials found that low- to moderate-quality studies consistently reported clinically significant improvements in pain and function, as well as a reduction in pain medication use over a spectrum of acute and chronic pain disorders. Noting an excellent safety profile and relative cost-effectiveness, consideration of HWDS as part of a multimodal pain management program was suggested (Williamson, et al., 2021).

My Personal Opinion and Rationale:

As a person that struggles with chronic pain, I have seen, firsthand, the need for alternative pain management therapies. I recently was introduced to H-Wave therapy for my hip and neck, and I will say I was impressed. As someone who has tried most most every pain relief method on the market, I was not expecting much relief. However, my hip responded to the first treatment and honestly, I walked out feeling better than I had in weeks. The pain, unexpectedly, stayed at bay for several days. I have continued to use it for about 6 weeks with continued relief. Not surprising, my neck has not been as responsive, but I have had some reduced pain. My neck pain has been a chronic issue for over 10 years, has extensive degenerative disc disease, and I have recently had surgery. Due to this, I expect there to be a slower response. I am pleased to know that there is an alternative option to multiple medications including muscle relaxers, pain, and nerve pain medications which usually do not work well, and have many unwanted side effects. I believe the H-wave may allow many chronic pain sufferers to have an at home method of pain management that does not have those unwanted side effects and can actually add some quality of life and hope for a brighter future that is not not tied as much to pain medications. The fact that it seems to give respite to chronic pain sufferers without any side effects, I believe is enough of a reason to pursue further studies and for providers to extend this method of therapy to their patients. I believe, if providers will proactively educate and demonstrate how this therapy could bring the patient relief at home and be a pain management method that can put them in the drivers seat, so to speak, and give them some control over treating their pain, that we will see a decrease in opiod use and an improvrment in our patient's quality of life.

I see Abraham & Sheila planning our team meetings and assigning team members to appropriate projects, and Faith helping to develop our H-wave for future potential uses and clients. Sheila's expertise will help us if we need alternative ideas and will aid our team in being able to make decisions. Fernando will keep us on track and be our follow-through person. I will assist in mentoring our team members, pointing out their strengths, and helping the team adapt when needed. I will bring calmness and positivity when there is disagreement. I, along with William will be the ones showing the H-Wave therapy device to clients.
