Al-Quran as the Guidance

Al-Quran as guidance

The Quran was revealed by Allah to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gradually through the Malaikat Jibril over 23 years, beginning in 610 Masihi with the first revelation in the Cave of Hira. The Quran was sent as a guide for humanity, leading them to the right path and distinguishing between good and evil.

The main purpose of the Quran is to provide guidance, improve akhlaq, and teach the oneness of Allah (Tawhid) and proper worship. It also outlines laws, warns of the Day of Judgment, and teaches mankind about Allah’s mercy and greatness.

	•	Source of Truth: The Quran provides clear distinctions between right and wrong, guiding believers in their daily lives.

	•	Comprehensive Teachings: It covers all aspects of life, including personal conduct, social justice, and spirituality.

	•	Eternal Relevance: The Quran’s guidance is timeless, offering solutions to past, present, and future challenges.

	•	Spiritual Growth: Reciting and reflecting upon the Quran brings one closer to Allah and enhances inner peace.

	•	Moral Compass: The Quran sets ethical and moral standards, helping individuals live righteously and avoid harm.

Allah says Quran contains information about every aspect of life for the guidance of mankind.

“[It is] He Who has sent down the Book (the Quran) to you (Muhammad (PBUH)) with truth, confirming what came before it. And he sent down the Torah and the Injeel. Aforetime, as a guidance to mankind, And He sent down the Furqaan (The Criterion) [of judgment between right and wrong (this Quran)].” [3:3-4]

Above mentioned all verses proves that Quran is the only source of guidance for mankind and human beings can get success in this world as well in the life hereafter by spending their lives according to Quran.

WEEK 5

The word "ihsan" is mentioned 211 times in the Quran. According to the Quran, there are three characteristics of "al-Muhsin" (those who practice ihsan):

1. Doing good to others.

2. Doing good to others to the best of one's ability.

3. Performing these good deeds solely for the sake of Allah.

The Importance and Connection Between the Quality of Ihsan and Faith in the Day of Judgment:

Ihsan is deeply tied to faith because it reflects a person's awareness of Allah's constant presence. When a believer practices ihsan, they act with sincerity and excellence, knowing they will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment. The stronger one’s faith, the more they are driven to act with ihsan, as they recognize that all actions will be rewarded or judged by Allah in the hereafter. This leads to a life of moral excellence, motivated by the desire to please Allah and achieve success in the afterlife.

Onto this 3-month Usrah session, I had gained thousands of new information as well as knowledge related to the topic being proposed by Br Hazim in every single session. From every 3 to 5p.m. on Friday evening, directly after Jumaah prayer, I had got to see many usrah members and talked to them, making new friends and even found a quite a lot of my usrah members are from Penang too!

However, every single task that we did every day should be improved for betterment. For instance, I hope that our usrah session can be held in the morning instead of evening because most students have no classes in the morning and I would rather suggest morning because most of them are still fresh compared to the evening. Although the time schedule is quite not appropriate, the content of the session are still marvelous for me and I hope this way should be continued from time to time.

Wassalam.

My Reflection

Wassalam.
