Lennie would not give George the mouse which made him mad and he started to yell at Lennie for all the trouble he had brought him. With the fire they were cooking beans and Lennie complained about there being no ketchup which had also infuriated George. Lennie believed all the yelling was from that. George soon apologized for all the yelling and talked about their dream. They dreamed of living off the land with even just a small house. George told Lennie they could get a dog because Lennie wanted rabbits. When it's almost time for dinner, George instructs Lennie to get firewood, but instead Lennie retrieves the mouse. George yells at Lennie, but is sorry for what he did. George informs Lennie that they found another job on a ranch, and that Lennie should stay quiet as to not get in trouble.
