In the article "We have 12 years to limit climate change catastrophe, warns UN", Watts (2018) warns people about the dangerous predicted affects of global warming which are highly dangerous, but he suggests that people have solutions like reforestation, changing to electric transport and cutting to carbon pollution. The author starts by stating global warming's affects such as drought, floods. Following this, he warns that changing temperature from 1.5C to 2C would affect not only people, but also animals and environment. He concludes by stating that climate change is a big problem. However, there are many solutions for solving this problem which are reforestation, electric transport and less carbon dioxide.

Watts (2018) draws the readers' attention to dangerous affects of global warming, and he suggests the solutions to encourage solving this issue which are reforestation and cutting the carbon pollution.Watts' argument is quite convincing since increasing carbon emission has a direct impact on global warming which has many affects on environment, animals, and human. Carbon pollution should be decreased by policymakers like restricting carbon emission for factories because the biggest<del> a</del><del>e</del>ffect on carbon pollution is factories' prodcution (work is used for art and literature)<del>works</del>. The factories produce their goods by creating <del>with doing </del>carbon emission. If they decrease it, they make less good, and they don't want to reduce it<del>. B</del><del>b</del>ecause of that reason, policymakers should have an authority on factories. They should set rule for less carbon pollution. Additionally, reforestation can be helpful for reducing carbon pollution because it releases oxygine (check spelling) into the air, and makes air <del>more</del> cleaner. If societies plant more trees and reduce carbon emission, they will encourage global warming partially.

Good job, but the ideas about reforestation needs to be explained

In the article "We have 12 years to limit climate change catastrophe, warns UN", Watts (2018) emphasizes that global temperature has begu<del>a</del>n to become dangerous. First of all, s/he states that according to Paris agreement countries' pledge to stabilize temperatures between 1.5C and 2C. If these limitations are exceeded, its results can be mortal. Some of these result are water stress and food scarcity. However, the author warns that the main problem can be about nature. Most of plants and animals can take fatal damage and this automatically affect people's life and s/he claims that reforestation and electric transport system can be solution. Watts defends that World's temperature is reaching a <del>going to</del> dangerous level, people should keep target temperature.

Watts (2018) emphasizes the World's temperature which is reaching a <del>going to</del> dangerous level and s/he defends that reforestation and electric transport system can solve this problem. Author's argument which is "Reforestation is essential to all of them as are shifts to electric transport system."(Watts, 2018, p.1) is not convincing because global warming is becoming a serious problem but its solution can not be reforestation and electric transportation. The main problem is that people's demands are limitless. If electrici<del>ty</del> transport system is used, companies produce new cars which they consume more electricity and people want to buy them. For this situation, people produce more electricity with <del>an</del>other harmful ways which may damage the planet . In addition, reforestation can not be a solution because people don't care existent green places. As long as forest is covered with plastics and waste products, this also damages environment in another way. Thus, although Watts's argument seems convincing, these measures <del>prevention</del> can not be solution as long as people's demands are limitless.

Good job, but you need to explain your ideas about reforestation more.

MET

Watts (2018) draws the readers' attention to the global warming that is increasing dramatically and more than people actually expect. Emmot's arguments are quite reasonable and convincing because when the global warming<del> amount</del> is between 1.5 and 2C , It mostly causes food scarcity, lack<del>ing</del> of clean water in poor countries which are already suffering from warm weather. It is a severe problem for their resources which are limited for their survival<del>or</del><del>.</del> <del>f</del><del>f</del>or instance, the forests which feed and provide essential supplies for people by giving fruit and materials are almost to be lost half their habitat at 2C. Moreover, global warming has a big negative impact on oceans in many ways he says. To exemplify <del>this he gives some examples to be considered for example,</del> Corals will be lost at the higher of the two temperatures and also at this temperatures, fishes will be lost<del>ed</del> two times more than now (so you need to explain why this is risky and what will the results? You need to mention your reasons.). He emphasizes that the global warmıng has many dangerous effects which are harmful for the world (explain what are these risks?).

Emmott (2015) draws the readers’ attention to the causes and the results of overpopulation which threaten the world resources and humankind’s survival. I agree / Personally I agree with Emmott (informal) / Emmott makes a valid point / Emmott’s argument is quite convincing / Emmott has a reasonable argument because when the world population rises, the demand for food rises too=there is direct correlation between the population rise and food demand. In order to produce more food, farmers need to use more water, to take underground water and to work with soil they need machines that run with petrol. When they produce, at the same time they consume too many limited resources like fresh water and petrol. Emmott exemplifies the urgency of the problem by stating that 70% of the world useable water is now used for food production. However, the author fails to consider the “balance” factor. He claims that the poorer nations’ population grows so fast and this poses a serious risk for the world sustainability. When the countries and their consumption habits are considered, it can be clearly seen that the developed nations consume the limited resources more than the poorer nations. For example, a villager in Malawi goes to his farm on foot, but a man in İstanbul has to take the bus or go to work in his own car. Also technology can be considered, everyday white collar workers spend at least eight hours in front of laptops consuming electricity, but a villager in India does rarely use electricity when s/he works. Therefore, it will be wrong to state that only the numbers are important and they should be considered. Consumption patterns of the nations should be analysed in depth.

Which even a half degree change will threaten the world like drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty. Watts has a reasonable argument because the risks of climate change is already happening and getting worse and worse everyday. If authorities do not take<del>s</del> the necessary major precautions, hundred of people will face water stress <del>stress about water</del>, they will be <del>in</del> face the risk of climate-related poverty.

Watts (2018) warns that climate change is already happening, and that any additional warming effect<del>s</del> is getting worse. The writer’s argument is reasonable because people can clearly observe the consequences of global warming. Melting glaciers increase the water level around the world and decrease the terrestrials in poles with the effect of global warming. Therefore, living areas are decreasing for animals in the poles and living conditions are changing rapidly for other animals, plants and people. To exemplify , people<del>s</del> living in the Pacific are <del>is</del> worried that if global warming is higher than 1.5 degrees Celsius, their habitats will be flooded completely.

Watts (2018) warns the readers about the effects of global warming and temperature increase due to global warming. He has a reasonable argument because the world's temperature rises due to global warming. The author says that 2 degrees of heating will create a water shortage of 2 times as much as 1.5 degrees of heating. Moreover, the author has a
realistic point of view about the global
warming’s implications for the oceans. The oceans are already suffering from
high acidity and low oxygen levels as a result of climate change. If the
temperature increases by 2 C, the fishing loss doubles. The third <del>3rd</del> world countries have a water problem even in the current situation. With the increase in temperature, the problem of water will be more common among these countries, this can create a huge work force problem in world. The environmental problem will affect the work force in this respect, if people do not want to live in that area without clean water resources, then it stops production in that region. As the work related to human labor is mostly done in the third world countries, the stop of production in these countries will affect the whole world. The author also touched on the positive aspects of the subject. Re-plantation and electric transport system will reduce carbon pollution. The use of electric vehicles should be supported by governments, besides the use of these electric vehicles can be extended with special taxes to be applied to electric vehicles. Using electric motors that are more sensitive to the environment will significantly reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, climate change due to heating is earlier and faster than expected. Reports show that we must be more committed to preventing climate change. (wrap up by stating you should / can be done briefly)
MET

He is worried about the world’s situation and people’s carelessness <del>for</del> about <del>the</del> global warming. Roberts (as cited in Watts, 2018) “It’s a line in the sand and what it says to our species is that this is the moment and we must act now” (p.25) She is right because if people will continue to live like this <del>do like</del> now, the world is going to collapse <del>be end irrevesibly</del>. People should be aware of this alarm and take steps to <del>contribute to </del>prevent world from carbon pollution<del>s</del>,climate changing <del>etc.</del>Therefore administrators and people who care about this issue, have to take a responsibility and try to solve this problem<del>s</del>.For example, they can start <del>do</del> reforestation or stop to use chemicals which are harmful to global warming.

So far good organization, explain your ideas how can reforestation and less chemicals can help?
MET

Watts(2018) highlights the effects of global warming which is dangerous even the world gets 1.5c warmer and shows the impacts of the situation in the nature if it occur<del>e</del>s more in our lives. Reports show<del>s</del> that if the world gets 1.5c warmer, the level of water will decrease half and half and became 50% lower than at 2c. Accordingly the poor countries will became much <del>more</del> poorer and food scarcity will decrease in the poor countries because of the lack of water automatically. Great<del>e</del> difference will be in the nature because even the insects which are neccessary for human will lose half their habitat.Furthermore sea level rise will <del>parallelly</del> this affects more than 10 million more people by 2100.
The author warns us <del>with </del>by showing us different results of what global warming will make <del>to</del> on our nature and habitat and demonstrates the importance of even 1.5c is really important <del>for become in a worser situation</del>! I tot<del>t</del>ally agree with his arguments (informal expression). People should be aware of this problem and start to move for not losing<del>e</del> our nature and our descendants<del>ce</del>.

You need to explain your ideas and the same idea is repeated twice. There are also informal expressions, you need to work on.

Bes

In the article entitled ‘What difference would restrict warming to 1.5C make? By Whatss (2018) the author claims that a small change in global temperature can have great effects. First, the author began by describing the data in the reports. Also the author mentions that a half-degree increase in global warming will cause a large water problem according to reports. The author makes a connection between increased temperature and sea levels rise. The writer also says that the number of fish in the oceans will decrease with increasing temperature and the seas will be more acidic. He hopes that electric motors will reduce global warming. To sum up, the author says the report helps us understand how effective a little warm-up.
