While watching the video they explained how there was false accusations of murder pointed towards an individual. This man being not guilty and receiving punishment due to his race. But in this book it seems that she was only looking out for the majority in this case being the white people of town, not the minorities that were being convicted unfairly only because they leaved in the other part of town .
Even when we believe that it is fair and equal among everyone there is still some part of the justice system that only benefits a certain amount of people.

This quote relates to our theme because when Jefferson was on trial for this robbery/murder, it only took the jury a lunch break to come up with the verdict. This is also related to our theme because the jury consisted of 12 white men. Justice is not always just and sometime is even more lean to the unjust side. Justice is always just, because no one knows if someone is actually telling the truth or not. For example, someone innocent could be accused of doing something they have never done and get in trouble with it, just because they were near that scene, then actual criminal can give money to the "witness" for them to lie, then the real criminal is having freedom and fun and keep making crime, while the innocent is a scapegoat might even get death penalty. This is just one example of justice not just, there are thousands of unjust more out there. There is no such thing as justice, who is justing all these, and how do we know the one who is justing this is being justice, and why do we even have the rights to just for someone else. Just is a big part of life, it's everywhere. First, the book itself based on an african american man being accused of a murder he did not commit. Eventually we would find he was found guilty (even though he is innocent) and put on death row. This situation alone shows how justice is not always just. Being that jefferson was found "guilty" proves an immense about of racial motivation from the court. Truly understanding the impact we have on others. I think it's good to collect mentally that there was injustice but, I believe it's crucial to understand how much of an impact outside people had on Jefferson through this book. In the beginning of the book Jefferson would be called names like "hog" and "pig". This lead him to fully believe he is just that, a hog. In several of the jail parts in the book we can read how the police chief underestimate and make himself feel more important and with authority over Grant and Jefferson’s friends and family.

They just push all the thing on to Jefferson, so they don't have to do so many work. This quote relates to the theme of racial injustice because Henri didn't even try to look at the evidence or really hear Jefferson's side before saying he was guilty. This also relates because he was the person talking for Jefferson, so he heard everything that Jefferson told him and what Jefferson said happened, but because he was a different race Henri only saw guilty. We also need to start to appreciate those people that worry for us, that they are there for us no matter what, people that support us. 
Sometimes we take for granted those in our lives and unappreciate the effort they to to continue to be in our lives. When we don't think about what we are doing we might hurt them without realizing so we should always be cautious and appreciate those that surround us.
