 It was insightful to hear your reflection on the effects of the pressure your mom puts on you to always be better. Often, people talk about the dark sides of this behavior without acknowledging the light. I appreciated how you have come to see your competitive nature as both a strength, in enabling you to achieve excellence, and a weakness, when you are ‘more competitive than you want to be’ and might get in the way of your own happiness or ability to relate to others. 

I see you as a leader who inspires excellence (and maybe a little friendly competition) while giving people the freedom to express and be themselves. 

And just as important: that capability is obviously every bit as present regarding your professional life, and you can own it!  You are qualified to do so much, and your self-awareness positions you well to make further progress in your career while creating the culture that you envision.  Keep challenging yourself, but you have the compass that will give you unerring direction – I can see it.  You don’t need to qualify because you can trust yourself!

Looking Back Thoughts: A lot of your looking back thoughts felt incredibly relatable to me. Specifically, your relationship with your parents growing up – how you were both tremendously loved but also fiercely challenged, was something I felt like I might have said myself. I also really admire your dedication overall, and how excitedly you speak of your passions for marketing and your future vision, as well as the sense of balance you want to strive for. You have always come across to me as someone who makes great plans and sees them through!
