Starting classes virtually presents a lot of different challenges but I am excited to try and create a classroom community. I hope we will be able to do lots of fun virtual labs together.

I'm Mr. Jarrell and this is going to be my 5th year teaching. In the past I have taught both Algebra 2 and Calculus for 4 years as well as 8th grade Science and College Admissions Prep.

I'm originally from South Florida and went to college at THE U (Miami), so you know I'm a die-hard Hurricanes fan! At Miami I majored in Architectural Engineering and my dream at that time was to work on designing sports stadiums.

After college I worked as an Engineer and Project Manager for a solar energy company for about 5 years, where I got the chance to live in both the San Francisco and Denver areas before moving to KC. I also have Master's degrees in Business Analytics and Secondary Education and I love to mix in data analysis in the classroom.

In my free time I like to stay active by walking/hiking, working out, and playing volleyball. I also used to coach Lincoln's girls volleyball team for 2 years, GO TIGERS!

My name is Ryan Fitz[patrick]. My last name doesn’t contain brackets, but Lincoln students have successfully erased part of my identity for nine years now. I have simply become “Fitz.” I’m pretty sure some of my longtime colleagues will be surprised to learn my full name when reading this.

KCPS currently pays me to learn about IB English, IB Theory of Knowledge, and IB Philosophy with some of the smartest young adults in the region. If you are experiencing a midlife crisis and in need of a new career, I highly recommend getting KCPS to pay you to spend time waxing poetic and philosophical with these erudite thinkers. Every day is ready to burst with meaning.

I often tell people that Lincoln is a microcosm of how the world should be, and I am confident that we will adapt to these strange times and still pursue deeper learning. One thing I am most excited about for this year is teaching many of the same students I had my first year here. The freshman class when I started as a substitute will be seniors this year!

I grew up in sunny Southern California where I attended UCLA and received my bachelor's degree in Biology. My midwestern adventure began at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. At Drake, I served as the Women's Rowing coach and earned my master's degree in Education.

Some of my favorite activities include hiking and camping, rowing, yoga, playing the guitar, and hanging out with my dog, George.
