Americans supported the government during the Spanish-American War because they thought that they were helping Cuba. They thought the way the Spanish were treating the Cubans was extremely unfair, so the Americans joined them in the rebellion against Spain. Americans thought that it would be a good idea to bring democracy to other places and introduce the American lifestyle in order to make them better. They also supported the government because they believed that every great nation has imperialism.

The American government was supported by their people before and during the Great War because Wilson valued people's opinions and wanted the best for them; he wanted to make sure Americans would have a say in his final decsision. Not only did he listen to Americans during the war, but his 14 points were ideas that would benefit everyone, which helped him gain the trust and support from Americans.

Before the Rusian Revolution, Russia was a monarchy. There wasn't much genuine support when the Tsar ruled. People respected the Tsar because he was "chosen by god", which meant he was supposed to be the ruler of Russia. The majority of the people in Russia (at least 80%) were peasant farmers, and they were tired of the way they were treated. After Karl Marx wrote The Manifesto of the Communist Party, the Russian population was interested. Could they really achieve complete equality in just three easy steps?Vladmir Lenin promised they could. He earned the support of the people he goverened because he promised them a utopia. Along with complete communism, the leader of the Bolchievics promised Peace, Land, and Bread.

During WW2, Franklin D Roosevelt had the support of Americans because he told them everything that was happening, and made them feel safe and heard. During the Great Depression His fireside chats made Americans feel like they were important and were being considered. He gained the support of the people he governed by also making organizations to help people find jobs after the Great Depression, help them recover, and gave extra help to vulnerable people. This gained him such a good reputation that he was reelected during WW2. During WW2, he kept the support of Americans thanks to his ability to give great speeches that informed Americans about what was happening and what was going to happen.

Hitler was supported by the people he governed because he promised them something almost all of them wanted; to get back the pride of their country. Hitler was becoming the totalitarian leader (or dictator) of Germany. The Treaty of Versailles blamed WW1 on the Germans, and made them pay for repairs and had to follow strict restrictions. The Germans were nationalists and the pride of the country was extremely hurt. Hitler promised to get vengence andthe majority of Germans were pleased at this idea.
