My name is Paula Way. This will be my second semester in the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program. I am very happy to be here as obtaining my doctorate degree has been one of my life dreams. 

I have really enjoyed the online RCs, despite a lot of people saying they do not. I really appreciate the convenience of them being online. This year the session that I found to be most valuable was the session by Tom Hayashi, 
You Don't Have to Do it Alone: Research & Publication Strategies.  I have always wanted to write and publish but have had no idea how or what or how to get started. He provided a lot of really great information someone like me, with absolutely no experience, could understand, follow up on, and work towards. 

Two things worked well for me on my first semester and continue to work well for me that I can share with new students: 1. We have a Facebook group for the our class. That has been one of the most important resources since the start of the first semester. Everyone there is always so helpful. 2. The Canvas calendar crossing each completed assignment is very satisfying. I like working ahead whenever possible and seeing the assignments crossed off before their due date helps boost my confidence and drive. Support system and organizational tools have been the two things that have helped me tremendously. 

My goal this term is to pass all of my courses and to start thinking more about what I need to do in my personal life to set myself up for when the time comes to start practicum and internship. I'd rather start preparing now and have a plan. I don't have any questions at this time. Right now I do not know what you can be of assistance on but I will be sure to reach out if I have any questions.
