Russia also captured the city of Chuhuiv, but was recapured by Ukrainian forces on March 7.

Later Russia denied that Ukraine had sunk their ship and claimed that it had an onboard fire and that the sailors had successfully contained it, but later when it was being towed to port it sank due to "stormy weather".

Russian mercenary group, Wagner, rebelled against Moscow

On June 23rd the Russian funded mercenary Wagner group, staged a rebellion in the form of a march to Moscow, because of increasing tensions between the Wagner group leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin and Russia's minister of defense, Sergei Shoigu. While Prigozhin was supportive of Russia's invasion of Ukraine he publicly criticized Russia's minister of defense.
