Going around my garden and looking at all the different plants not knowing just how many plants there are.
Through this learning experience I have even more understanding of providing learning opportunities and activities for the students in an outdoor setting as the environment can offer students valuable lessons. Whether this is offered through visual, audio or physical activities.

What?
Authentic arts was the topic explored. Learning how incorporating authentic arts activities for student to complete instead of the cookie cutter approach provides students opportunities to develop their own ideas. Therefore allowing many different ideas to occur in the arts.

So What?
Recycling items around the house provides many ideas to create with but ultimately choose to create turtles and a boat with an egg carton and milk bottle.

Now What?
Completing the activity provided me with understanding that you can create anything by recycling items around the house.

What?
This week's focus is on stop motion animation to integrate media arts into the learning. Using my recycled artwork from Module 2.1 creating a stop motion animation.

So What?
using the boat and turtles to display and polluting the ocean with plastic and non-biodegradable resources can and will affect all the sea creatures. using the boat to spill the rubbish into the ocean with the turtles swimming away as their home is being filled with rubbish.

Now What?
After creating a stop motion animation to display the importance of sustainability I understood this would be a great resource video or learning activity students can complete. Students will be able to learn how to be sustainable as they witness the effects of plastic or other climate change effects. As well as using items recycled around your home can teach students how to recycle and how these recycled items can have another purpose.

What?
This weeks focus is on integrating music and visual arts.

So What?
the song had a few musical elements to visually represent the sounds/beats. As well as the melody. Using different colours, shapes and lines to represent the piano, guitar, drums/beats and the melody in the song.

Now What?
I initially had trouble at the start of the activity on how to represent the music visually. I can understand how this learning experience will offer students an opportunity to communicate how they feel in a different way.

What?
I created a soundscape for 'The Starry Night' by Vincent van Gogh.

So What?
During the creation of the music I looked at the painting and tried to pick a theme or feeling that might represent it. I went with a quiet and calm night where the music would be soft and gentle-like. Therefore using piano in it was a way to create that. This task is beneficial to engage music and visual arts together as understanding music and art can be used to represent each other.

Now What?
Trying out soundscapes was new for me but creating this learning activity was fun. I got to be able to play around with all of the features and see what I could do to choose music to represent the painting.

What?
Completing an activity with science and the arts integrated. This activity required explanation on the behavioural characteristics of an Australian green tree frog through dance.
Green Tree Frogs are not very large creatures with the females being slightly bigger then the males. Their limbs are short and at the end of their digits is a sticky adhesive which allows them to have grip when climbing. When Green Tree Frogs catch their smaller prey they stick out their tongue and flick it up when an insect is caught. To catch larger prey these frogs pounce and use their hands to push their food into their mouth.

So What?
The movements in my dance include small and slow movements of the arms and legs to represent the size of the frogs. Creating whole arm, hand and finger movement to represent the frogs climbing and being able to grip on. Adding a big movement like jumping and puncing a couple of times during the dance to show what frigs must do to catch their food.

Now What?
This learning activity was an experience out of my comfort zone as I am not much of a dancer and know a limited amount of dance movements and some of their names. Completing this activity provided me with insight into how it can be included into the learning for students to do. Adding extra teaching and learning elements such as expertise from a dance teacher to provide more knowledge of dances and allowing students to choose their own animal to create a dance to create a more authentic integrated arts lesson/s.

Drama activity -
The teacher assigns a real-life event that occurred during the First Fleet - the arrival to Australian shores. The students write a script about the event and assign the roles to each other. One students becomes the narrator to tell the story to the audience throughout the play.

Explain -
The drama activity allows students to learn and understand how an event was made through movement (how they walk and talk, their facial expressions and emotions). They learn about the arrival of the First Fleet when they are researching information to be able to write the play with accurate information. Therefore gaining knowledge and understanding on the significance and sequence of events of the First Fleet.

Assessment -
The assessment for the drama activity would be in the form of formative assessments. The formative assessments would be the teacher completing one-on-one and whole group feedback, checklists to see how the students are progressing and quizzes and exit tickets to gain understanding on their knowledge of the First Fleet. As well as knowledge on elements of drama learning.
