Growing up in the church, you see the impact of gospel music and how much it means to people of all ages of the congregation. Music that hits a certain nerve or feeling can instantly bring out tears of sadness or tears of joy depending on the person. When the right music is played at the right time, beautiful moments of love between people who can share a certain experience can be witnessed. The lyrics of gospel music can speak to you and take you to a place where a lot of other different types of music can't take you. Gregorian Chant and Grateful Dead Singing are similar in the fact that they mostly have a conductor like person leading a group that is singing in unison. You see this a lot in the church with the church choir and praise dancers. This is an example of praise dancing. These people dance with hand motions to the beat and feel of gospel music. It is a spiritual experience for them and those watching.
