Accessed 29 May 2019.

We Can Do It by J. Howard Miller and produced on May 29 in 1943 was an iconic painting/wartime poster of Rosie the Riveter flexing her muscles, and saying “we can do it”, made to motivate all the women doing what would have been male dominating jobs and to support feminism. This was during the WW2 era when many men left their jobs to fight for America. Due to this, many women had to take over some male jobs and this wasn’t easy for women, having to do the all of the housework and having a full-time job, because at the time, most mom’s were stay at home mom’s and did all of the housework. The meaning of the painting is how women can do exactly what men do and to motivate all the women working in factories and related jobs.

Famous Musicians: The Andrew Sisters
Link: https://www.britannica.com/topic/the-Andrews-Sisters
Citation: "The Andrew Sisters". 2019.
The Andrew Sisters are the world’s most famous female singers to ever walk on Earth. They made many famous songs during and after the war, and would visit places with wounded soldiers to boost morale. Some famous contributions to the music world during ww2 are Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and shoo-shoo baby. The Andrew Sisters represented the importance of music to the ww2 era, America’s strength and America’s pride. I chose The Andrew Sisters because they represent America and women in a good way, and because it shows that women can just as good or better than men. They inspire me because they were turned down my so many radio companies, but despite that they kept trying for greatness, and their first album released by a radio company ended up being the first album made by a woman to get millions of records sold.
