<title>Farangiz Mamadayozova Linguistic Autobiography Natively I am Persian; however, I am well-versed in six languages: Russian, English, French, Pamirian, and Turkish. Persian being my native language, I got to learn it early. It is the language my whole household speaks. Pamirian is also my second native language from my father&#39;s side. The Pamir language is an areal group of the Eastern Iranian languages, spoken by numerous people in the Pamir Mountains, particularly near the Panj River. Although, we only speak Pamirian when visiting relatives of our extended family during holidays. Most of the Pamirian I know was taught by my uncles and cousins. Sometimes we also speak English in our household. I got to learn English in school from kindergarten and my siblings. I am personally comfortable with every domain of the English language; I can write, read and listen to conversations or audio in English. Settings where I use the English language include school and travel.</title>

<title>Onto French and Russian, Russian is the second language in my country after Persian, and we do speak a bit of Russian with my folks and friends, making it my second most understood language. On the other hand, French is a language I studied at the university, so I got to know it later when I was grown enough. I occasionally use French when travelling and sometimes in business transactions with individuals from French countries. I can comfortably converse in both languages and read texts written in both French and Russian. Last but not least, I also understand and can speak a bit of Turkish, which I learned while growing up from the societal setup I was brought up in. I use it mostly when visiting the neighborhood where I grew up, listening to and holding conversations in Turkish.</title>

<title>Bilingualism, in my opinion, puts me at an advantage, and I get to have numerous social experiences and be given priority over job opportunities. Bilinguals may establish friends in more than one language, which means they have more opportunities to meet new people and participate in various hobbies and activities. Converting with individuals from various cultures is a significant social benefit that may open up many new opportunities in life. Speaking a second language provides several job-related advantages, and being bilingual implies that you will have additional work prospects depending on whatever languages you speak. </title>

<title>Communication is essential in the workplace, and more businesses, particularly those with foreign headquarters, emphasize bilingualism (Bialystok, 2021). Fast-growing industries such as tourism, journalism, and translation place a high emphasis on multilingual workers. Additional languages on your CV may push your application to the top of the pile, giving you a higher chance of landing the job, even if you aren&#39;t as qualified as another monolingual applicant.</title>

<title>On the other hand, friends and family perceive my language abilities as being intelligently blessed. I cannot get enough compliments from people calling me a genius. Not to disagree, I appreciate being recognized for my efforts. And in support of why they would think I am intelligent, according to research, being multilingual provides several cognitive benefits (Bialystok, 2021). According to the study, speaking a second language might mean you have a higher attention span and can multitask better than monolinguals. Being multilingual requires you to transition from one language to the other continually. Several additional research indicates that bilingualism may lessen the chance of suffering a stroke. Both bilingual children and bilingual adults gain cognitively. Children as young as seven months exposed to more than one language react better to environmental changes. Furthermore, there is less cognitive deterioration in senior bilinguals.</title>

<title>Bilingualism also has demerits linked to it; they include factors such as; Language Fluency Delay: Speech delay is sometimes mistaken with language delay. According to studies, speech delay is not caused by bilingualism; nevertheless, when an individual attempts to acquire or master two languages, they may take longer to become proficient in these languages, resulting in language fluency delay (Sandoval &amp; Salmon, 2010). Language Mixing: It is typical to see someone begin a phrase in one language and conclude it in another. People tend to speak and express themselves using whatever words come naturally. The dominance of one language over the other: Bilingual persons may choose to speak one language more than the other, resulting in dominant languages. Finally, being responsive to bilingualism refers to an individual&#39;s capacity to speak one language, comprehend another, but not speak it. Most of the time, this is due to a genuine need for the language and a lack of enough exposure to the language. In receptive bilinguals, a lack of vocabulary is a significant element to consider.</title>

<title>Conclusion To sum up, I concur that my bilingual ability has played a significant role in advancing my professional practice. It has put me at an advantage over job activities and helped me network with numerous individuals who will help my career take off. To better support MLs, we can start by defining quality education for Multilingual Learners in the United States begins with remembering three critical ideas: the role and purpose of education in a democracy, the need to transform the current state of education for Multilingual Learners (MLs) to enable their full participation in our evolving society, and the importance of using solid theory to drive that transformation in MLs education.</title>
