The power lines are underground from the road to our house (I'd never thought to look!) This will no doubt effect the quality of soil/land for the whole property, valley, community. 
The growing of food cannot be looked at in isolation- we must consider the wind, sun, weather, community, neighbouring properties, water source etc.

There are 530 named rivers in the Taranaki region - such a huge number.
