One of her brothers stayed behind in Mexico and one of her sisters didn't want to cross the border but still wanted to be close to her siblings so she stayed in TJ. They were poor and they wanted better lives for them, their children, for their children and so on. Their dad had a job of picking crops for a living, but it wasn't enough, they wanted to live the "american dream".
