being held when sketching...primarily from the rear.
2. Additive sketching; little erasing and the addition of the white pencil negates the grey pencil.
3. The direction of the pencil goes with the wood grain and texture of the windowsill.
4. The more coarse brown paper is making the edges, lines, and corners of the sketch more dull. The addition of the white pencil and darker lead seems to counteract that.
5. Lastly, I think there is some aspect of perspective used on the shadow of the bird.

I laid out what I needed for the next morning’s run that night; the pill that I take every day, my glasses, and a GU(which is an energy gel for runners). I chose this image because at the simplest level, it’s me. My sport, my eyes, et cetera. I started with the pencil set figuring out perspective of each item. The pill case was done with a ruler...and it’s my favorite part of this sketch. Everything else was freehand. The table is the block of charcoal. I was hesitant to use it because it covered up the elephant print that I traced from the fridge.
