Hi! I am Emily Honn, but I go by "Maddie." I am 22 years old, soon to be 23 in a couple of weeks - which is exciting! I started teaching third grade last February at 21 years old, and fell in love with the third grade curriculum. I work at the same elementary school that I attended; my whole family attend this elementary school and live in the community. The school is in Goldsboro, NC; it is about an hour from Raleigh and 1 1/2 Horus from Wilmington. My short term professional goal would be to stay in third grade at this school at least until I have completed the full beginning teacher program. My long term professional goal is to retire a teacher, and continue working as a Title 1, Reading Remediate, or administration. I am not entirely sure what I have my heart set on, but I know I have time to figure it out and complete it. I am looking for more leadership tips out of this class; I am always looking for new ideas to bring to the table at my school, and ways I can be involved (even as a BT). I am super excited for this course, and to learn more about Organizational Theory!
