Once in the bridge they are moving very slow because the fear falling off when all of a sudden they hear and see a train approaching. Since the had a loaded gun they decide to take turns on guard duty so that they could fall each fall asleep for some time. Gordie and Christopher have a conversation about how Gordie should leave them and start hanging out with the "smart kids"like him, Gordie states that we wouldn't leave them. They also run in with the Ace but when Gordie turns a gun to the gang they leave them alone. They all decide to make an anonymous call to report the dead body and not take any credit for it.
