The real ruler was shogun, which was also known as the supreme military commander. Just below him was the powerful landholding samurai which was daimyo and then Samurai's warriors came after. After the warrior the peasants and artisans came, and were made up of 4-5ths of the population. It was also the last medieval government in Japan and, this happened before modernization of the Meiji Restoration.
3) Tokugawa leyasu concluded the merge into becoming one of Japan and in the 1600s leyasu won against his rivals in the Battle of Sekigahara. 3) Nagasaki had the largest sea ports in Southern Japan and had many varied industries like: ships, military equipment, production of ordnance, and more war equipment. Tokugawa leyasu soon found out that aspects from the Christians were inconvenience. Tokugawa didn't take action at first and soon, he banned Christianity and worked on ridding his country of all Christians. Leyasu then died in 1616 and then in 1637 an issue raised because 30,000 peasants from southern Japan leaded by unsatisfied Samurai. This then shook the Tokugawa shogunate because, there were so many rebels that were Christians. - I think that the most important item that the Portuguese brought back were the firearms. I think this because Japanese warriors whose main weapon was a sword.
