The Backyardigans is a Nickelodeon cartoon that follows the imaginary adventures of five animal neighbors. The four friends share a large backyard between their houses and in this yard they meet and imagine themselves on fantastical adventures that involve a variety of genres and settings. In these imaginary places, the five friends play, sing songs, and solve any problems they may come across on these adventures.

Columbo is an investigative drama that follows a shrewd and exceptionally observant homicide detective of the same name. This investigative drama is unique in that it does not follow the traditional plot of a “whodunit”, wherein the crime is committed, but the detective and the audience must use the evidence to narrow down a list of suspects to determine who committed the crime. Instead, Columbo popularized the “howtocatchem” format where the audience gets to witness the crime, its perpetrator, and how detective Columbo uses his skills to catch and expose the killer.
