         <description><![CDATA[<div><a href="http://www.history.com/topics/john-pierpont-morgan">JP Morgan Biography <br><br>http://www.history.com/topics/john-pierpont-morgan</a><br>John Pierpont Morgan Sr was an American Financier in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on April 17th, 1837. JP financed railroads, and helped organize U.S. Steel, a steel company. Throughout the years, J.P. Morgan was able to help stabilize American financial markets. Morgan helped rescue America’s gold standard in 1895. J.P. Morgan died on March 31, 1913 after years of helping the American financial companies. </div>]]></description>

Pierpont Morgan &amp; Co. in 1864, Morgan paired with Charles Badney to form Dabney, Morgan &amp; Co. After the fall of Dabney Morgan &amp; Co., Morgan partnered with Anthony Drexel and founded Drexel, Morgan &amp; Co. in 1885, Morgan and directors of the New York Central came to an agreement, this agreement is know as the Corsair Compact. In 1892, 2 years after Morgan;s father passed away, Morgan merged Edison General Electric, and Thomson Houston Company to make General Electric. <br><br></div>]]></description>
