A human born in a bilingual family core is more probable to become bilingual because of the exposition to two languages during childhood. Instead, it´s harder for adults to have a good domain of two languages due to many factors:
  • Mother tongue interference
  • Long time exposed to just 1 language
  • He/SHE is beyond the critical period
The human brain has a period of development and when this period is ending it tends to damage the brain, in this case, we talk about adult learners and it depend on the degree of cerebral damage if they will be able to acquire another language or not.
