Social bilingualism: the acquired ability by a person to communicate independently and alternatively in two languages. This also applies to the existence of two languages in the same region. Bilingualism and bilingualism: the most prestigious language corresponds to the highest social class, while the least prestigious language is spoken by the lowest social class.
Bilingualism without bilingualism: Normally one of two languages is used. Bilingualism without bilingualism: It occurs in very unequal societies where the language of the most powerful groups does not match the language used by the rest of the population. Communication between the two groups is only possible through interpreters. Personal bilingualism: it is the ability of a person to learn two languages and decide when to use one or the other language in turn.

Depending on the age of a human, it's easier to acquire two languages. A human born in a bilingual family core is more probable to become bilingual because of the exposition to two languages during childhood. Instead, it´s harder for adults to have a good domain of two languages due to many factors:

Mother tongue interference

Long time exposed to just 1 language

He/SHE is beyond the critical period

The human brain has a period of development and when this period is ending it tends to damage the brain, in this case, we talk about adult learners and it depend on the degree of cerebral damage if they will be able to acquire another language or not.
