During subsequent years we always went back for as long as possible. We have hiked just about every trail (but never made it all the way down Damnation Creek Trail, because we knew we’d never make it back up). Our very favorites are: the northern half of the DeMartin section of the Coastal Trail, which starts on Hiway 101 at about the Last Chance Grade; and Brown Creek Trail, off the Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway in Prairie Creek Redwoods. A more beautiful, peaceful, meaningful place does not exist, in our eyes. In 2007, my husband legally changed his full name to Forest Duff Redwood. (I have not changed mine, for legal and family estate reasons.) Every time we step into the forest there, I feel as if I am enveloped in peace and love. The oxygen level clears and energizes me. Indescribable. Everyone in the parks and on the trails seems happy, content, in awe, at peace."
