First of all, the classroom layout has to be adaptable: students should be able to move their tables and chairs depending on the task or they should be able to sit down on the floor, move tables and chairs to the back...
A good idea is working by projects and facilitate team work: students choose the topic and the teacher just guide the process. By doing this, you get your students involved in the learning process. And so on, they can create their own materials for the project at the same time they look for information about the topic of the project.
A good way to improve creativity and self-esteem is to encourage discussion in the class, to have meaningful conversations and allow them to express themselves.
When taking notes, a good idea is to combine writing notes with drawings. It is demonstrated that learning and memorization are more significant when creativity and images are involved.
And the most important: recognising our students' achievements and creations. Getting a positive feedback is the clue to foster creativity and self esteem.

I always encourage my students to create their own games and I let them choose the topic. They create Kahoot quizzes and Memory games and then we can play it together in the classroom or they can send a link to each other and play it outside the classroom.

If the mind process is within the task I let them continue and even try to open new perspectives. If the process is somehow grey in my perspective I ask to explain the reasoning and if it makes sense I confirm. If the mind process is outbounds the lesson we discuss the subjet until we desconstruct and reconstruct a new pattern. I always try to be open mind as well let them think outside the box.

I organise often creativity poetsocal worshop for my studends. They first have to read more poetics books from different writers and to think how to write own poem at free theme. At the start, we are discussing, giving sugesstions, reading poems etc. and then everyone try to create tekst. Every student also ilustrate what has written. The results are excellent.

I encourage creativity in my classroom. Brainstorming is a powerful tool for developing students creativity. The goal is to generate as many ideas as possible in a relatively short span of time. My students use this activity at the beginning of the lesson.
Mind maps students do when we have revision. Students create a mind map by writing down a central topic or word. Next, link related terms or ideas around the central word. While similar to brainstorming, this technique allows for branching ideas and offers a very visual way of seeing how these ideas are linked.

My background before I was a teacher was Media so creativity is intrinsic to me. I encourage in classroom through free choice within certain activities. I can give guidance with English writing but I try to get students to think outside the box first. To do this and release their creativity I do Story' tasks where we each add to a story as a ball is passed around. It's important to give students permission to be creative but it does not come easy to all so we must remember this. I also use lego a lot. They find it easier to be creative when it's something tangible for them. They can then talk about it and it helps release the creativity. Example: Build something to represent you. I always try to encourage Creativity in my classroom especially while using games or role plays ...Namely, I allow students to write a scenario for the play (about the theme we are studying at that moment) and let them later on perform it in front of their peers...Finally, they are going to discuss the way the role play has taken....Another form to guarantee creativity within  classroom is the use of certain programs such as KAHOOT or QUIZZES or PADLET ...that s by sharing the link with the students to write their opinions for instance or introducing themselves or talking about their hobbies or their favourite pets.....

I always allow "what if" scenarios in many tasks. Recently, we talked about trolley problems and ethical/moral dilemmas and students gave various answers apart from "pick a side to save." This is very interesting and gives plenty of opportunities to create a discussion on whether some theory would be good or not. Students loved questioning each other's choices and solving the problem together in an unconventional way.

Yes, I do. I encourage creativity in my classroom in many different ways. For example recently we have analysed Fantasy Stories. We studied their structure and then children tried to write something similar. Fantasy Stories have allowed them to write more freely, to imagine the most peculiar and bizarre characters, landscapes, developments. Children have been very involved in writing this kind of stories. I think that we could do a next step: that is to transpose these stories in videos or, far better, in videogames. It would be a very interesting challenge for me and my children because the creation of a videogame would bring new questions to be answered and new problems to be solved. This second step could help children to develope divergent thinking.

I try to encourage students to creativity in all possible forms as much as I can. I encourage them, so that we do not use words in class like: "I can not / do not want". If someone does not understand, he or she asks me. Students draw, paint, sing, play, dance, write stories and songs, create a .ppt presentation, dramatize text; I give them tasks of practicing a lego dice. For example, to build a home/apartment model, a town/street plan, give them the task of exploring the dishes of our homeland, creating tasks for Kahoot quiz... etc... There is never a mention of something bad. Everything's fine because it's a child's expression. All I say is: "What can you do to be better?" A child should be free to think and spontaneously express his emotions. Positive emotions bring pleasant moments, and such moments favor learning.

I try to be as creative with my students as I can and know, so I often use applications such as Padlet, Plickers, Kahoot etc. to make my lessons more interesting and enjoyable. Also, I've come to realise that reading literature is the most boring thing for students when it's done in the old way, so I try to make it more fun for them by encouraging them to create trailers and videos based on books as well as using the 6 hats technique and similar, and they like it!

I try to encourage my students creativity by proposing different methods. In arts; I show them different methods and materials and they can choose what they want to do and how. So at the end we have individually projects and not 15-times the same kind of art. In the other lessons (like language) they can for example choose between different images the one which inspires them the most. I always try to include a creative activity, no matter what my lesson is about. I work with high school students whose English level is C1-C2, so we can do many different activities based on the original literary texts. Lately we have been working on Joyce's Finnegans Wake and trying to translate some of the "untranslatable" expressions into Croatian. I encourage creativity a lot in my ESL classes.
With the older students we , for example, create a shared story to promote writing skills: first we brainstorm adjectives, verbs and nouns and write them on the board. Then each student has to write one sentence on a paper and hand it to the next student, who continues the store. He/she then hands it to the next and so on.
Another variant of the shared story is to promote oral skills and practice structures: one student starts a sentence (for example He...) ; the other student continues ( for example WENT....) , the third student adds something more and so on.
With the younger students we create sort of comics, where everyone can draw and put words in the bubbles.
Another favourite game is the Memory Game for learning new vocabulary : One student starts, for example, "I went to the park and I saw a bird." Then the other repeats the sentence and adds another object. The third repeats all that has been said and adds another word. It gets quite tricky towards the 10th adding :)
We also play "Guess who you are" - the students try to guess the person, written on their back by asking Yes/No questions.
There are MANY MORE games... What I do more is, that sometimes I let the students create their own activity, which really boosts their creativity.

Creativity should be encouraged and teachers do it daily. It is not necessary to do great things but perhaps only different things in which the child can start using his own imagination. I try to do it by creating an environment in which the child feels at ease and then doing simple activities such as creating characters with simple materials (stones, sticks, strings ...) and then inventing a story or creating games and let children inventing the rules. My students also like role-playing games. You could do so many things but unfortunately the time is always too little.

In my classes I try, whenever possible and opportune, to encourage my students ‘creativity. However, they expect more teachers to expose the subject and they prefer to receive the information already treated than to be creative and have more work. Overall, students are more accustomed to reproducing than to creating.

Even so, I try to counter this "bad" habit of them (and mine) and propose some challenges. For example, I ask secondary school students to create stories / scenarios from arbitrary data: I ask them to choose 2 numbers from 1 to 10. Then, they tell me their numbers and I write down the numbers of all the students. Then I tell them what each number corresponds to and they have to write a situation / phrase from that data.

Another example: In 2016, our city was one of the sports cities and I asked them to take pictures that represented the way they felt about sport in the city. Then all the classes posted their photo on a padlet so that all the groups could perceive how students feel about sport in our city. Then, they present their photo to their class and explain their choice.(you can access the padlet in the link below) .

When we study art, I ask them to do the exercice of “Le cadavre exquis” (each student picks up a sheet of paper and draws a small thing. Then he folds the sheet leaving only a little of the drawing in sight and pass the sheet to his colleague who will do the same thing. Then move on to the other colleague, etc. In the end, unfold the sheet and in pairs or groups, try to write a story from the surreal drawing.

Therefore, I try to include my students as a co-creators of the teaching plan. I teach Music in a learning-by-doing way and theory only comes up in a need-to-know basis. Furthermore, I teach in a comprehensive way because I provide students the opportunity to act as listeners, performers, and composers.

I always plan my teaching projects according to the revised Bloom’s taxonomy:

Get acquainted with a musical work by first listening and reacting (talking and/or moving),
Then learn and rehearse how to play/sing the same musical work,
Analyse the musical elements (theory),
Compare (evaluate) with other musical works,
Perform in front of an audience, and
Compose.

Of course, one can compose in a not creative way. In addition, we can be very creative when performing. What makes composing and performing creative activities is the way tasks are designed and how it is rewarded. The best way to facilitate creativity is by designing open tasks with low external rewards (high intrinsic motivation). This is difficult to implement in a classroom, with time, space, privacy constraints, and assessment, so the second best way to promote creativity is a closed task with a high external reward (Hickey, 1997).

Every day I let them have 4-5 min of quiet time with a moment to meditate. I feel that meditating develops a moment of serenity in the mind and body of students and that also encourages creativity.
I promote body activities, dramatic games and several emotional intelligence activities to enhance the happiness and wellbeing of students. Every week I read a story and after we debate issues from it in our session of philosophy with kids. In plastic arts they sometimes draw or paint their interpretation of the story.

Every other month I present students a piece of a classic composer and we illustrate the music and do some activities of exploration.
For the last two projects the class has been working I started to implement brainstorming to see what ideas, themes and activities the groups wanted to work on.

After the chores for the day they can choose what to do, and they can, for instance, read books from the library or play freely with some games they worked with previously , when learning some concepts of math, like tangram, pentominoes, pattern blocks, Lego.

Now to motivate even more creativity I’m thinking about giving the class a time to write whatever they want on a little book and also develop Scratch activities in ICT hour.

In our „project days“ we tried the method „Design Thinking“. The students have been so creative! They build prototypes like a camera for emotions or a bus of kindness. I would like to try using this method in my subjects.

In music lessons my students are learning melodies on their own instruments. Then they have to create an own melody with the pitches of the melody they have learned before. After that they have to combinate their melodies ( maybe they have to transform it a little bit).

I present challenges to students concerning the writing process, for example. I use different strategies as far as the working process is concerned (work with the students by discussing ideas, ask them to work in groups, ...) and I usually establish them some rules which they are not used to have. The students come up with new, creative, brilliant ideas. As ateacher of Englis I try to challenge my students to not only memorize things but learn how to handle new situations. I believe that, even though it sounds strange, creativity should be taught. Teachers should talk to students about different ways that their knowledge can be used. I've had a habit for some years now that whenever we are finishing a unit or a topic, we discuss with students about ways of checking their knowledge. I encourage students to suggest exercises that could be used in tests. It's so interesting how their minds work and how creative they get.
Here is an example of a creative activity: when we were learning about Present perfect tense and how it is used, I decided to challenge them. They acted as journalists and wrote news using the tense. It was amazing what great pieces of work they managed to write. Some of them were really creative - one student wrote about UFO sightings and another about some foreign spies invading our country. There was a student who wrote a really funny news about an escaped kangaroo. In the end not only the learning objectives were met but students also learned how to be creative.

As for students I think one way of encouraging creativity is through the productive activities when it comes to language learning. For example creating a poster where they have to explain somthing about them. I let them choose different types of pictures, they can draw and can decide which content they are going to include regarding the topic.
Conerning the teacher methodology I also try to present the content we are going to study in different formats and include different types of activities to cover this content. For example, instead of reading a book in class, it's a good idea to help students prepare a theatre play about it.

We have been doing such activities occasionally. We have designed "carpet" of student work that depicts the landscape of our littoral that we have previously explored. In addition to that, we photographed in the photo group from a cloud of designed animals along the sea. We also made a Christmas tree from waste material. A group of students designed jewelery. In these moments, the creativity of the student is a surprise to us.

I encourage my students to produce their creations, from creative writing tasks, through photos, pictures, illustrations, presentations, quizzes, kahoots to Christmas decorations referring thematically to English-speaking countries (I teach EFL) or all member-states of the Council of Europe. I also encouage them to participate in PBL (Erasmus+ projects and bilaterial school exchanges). My students also take part in various art competitions. Two of them won 1st places in an international one in two categories held by a school in Romania. A group of my students also won a local competition organized by the city council of Warsaw and were sent on a trip to Vilnus, Lithuania. I do believe that enhancing creativity in students leads to better results in teaching and on the part of students to enjoying school even more.

I give my students construction tasks to make a model of different body parts (paper, wire, modeling clay, whatever is at hand). Students are divided in groups and each is doing its own model of arm, eye, brain etc. After a week all models are presented side by side so students from different classes can compare solutions. Sometimes its more like modern art than biology, but its fun and they learn about their anatomy.

I give homework for my students which is not typical for my subject, for example: reading books or watching movies that are related to mathematics. Then they need to give their opinions through essay, trailers, song, presentation, and maybe suggest some other books or films. In my classes, apart the worksheets my students have to implement, they have both obligatory and optional projects that lead to a video, a presentation and or an artifact. According to the revised version of Bloom’s taxonomy by Krathwohl, the process of creation – a key element of creativity – is included, and is placed above evaluation as a higher-order thinking skill. Taking that inot consideration my students encouraged to do things and be creative. I also try to give them the opportunity to participate in different projects/ programs (ex environmental, erasmus, horizon2020 etc, during after school hours, and use varied digital tools in order to be more willing to create things. Often I let my students to solve the problems on any possible way they want. I encourage them to use different techniques to build their constructions. Once they come to me with the drawings I never suggest what is on the picture (they are 4 years old) but always listen to the story about their work and ask 'What if you...?' and they usually respond to day by creating something more challenging. Yes we definitely encourage our students to be creative in their work. This year we started the emergent curriculum approach where students choose what they want to learn. First, we provide resources and the space they need so that they can express their creativity. Kids need a lot of time for unstructured, child-directed, imaginative play. Through play children if given the time and the right resources can become more creative. We make room for creative activities like rehearsing a dance or learning to draw. There are so many videos now on YouTube that according to a topic I search for a song on-line. Creativity is one of the main reasons I like developing eTwinning projects with my classes. I could mention quite a few examples of activities that fostered not only creativity in my students, but also collaboration and team-work. One of my favourite ones involved creating stories in English in a partnership with other European countries, exchanging those stories, story-boarding and exchanging them again and finally, creating videos of the stories using puppets, drawings, props and scenarios or whatever the students decided to use. It was amazing and an excellent opportunity for the students to be creative (if you don't mind me saying that myself...). Education system in Latvia is currently undergoing big changes, from traditional learning it gradually starts to transfer to competence-based learning. That's why teachers have to change their way of teaching as well. One of the key competences is developing critical and creative thinking. I have always loved games, interactive learning, creative manifestation, project-based learning so I am glad that is will finally be accepted as a system in all schools. I am a teacher of English and German, beginner’s to A2 level, so students’ linguistic competence is very reduced. This fact makes me actually be creative to come up with interesting activities.
