Why are stories so important? Stories are important because they reflect culture, history, values, and emotions. They also help you get you understand someone's side and you can even later go listen to the other side to connect the story. Stories also bring many people together.

Why is it so important to reject the "single story"?
It's very important to reject single stories because they are always wrong. Stories are just stories of what people they believe are going on which aren't. For example, in the video we are told this girls roommate thought everyone in Africa was poor, always hungry, and never had water. And she was far from being correct. The roommate only believed in this because the single story she grew up with her whole life. So yes, it is important not to believe single stories because they are far from the truth!
