The way socialism worked in Russia under the rule of Stalin was that instead of a wealthy person getting all of the money or food the community would spread the money or food evenly. as opposed to capitalism were the wealthy would get most of the money and food and the poor would get the left overs. The reason this form of government stayed in Russia as long as it did was because Stalin enforced it.
