Overall, this project helped me gain a deeper understanding of how linear perspective works and how to draw 1pt, 2pt, and 3pt perspective. After completing this project I realized that if I follow the rules of 1pt, 2pt, and 3pt the drawing becomes a lot easier as you just need to make sure all the lines connect to the vanishing point. This project has helped me by teaching me how to successfully draw linear perspective. I also felt overwhelmed at the beginning because drawing linear perspective looked extremely hard. That was until I learned the rules of linear perspective. If in the future I find myself working with linear perspective I will make sure to implement these rules to make it easier for myself. Something that was done well was my interpretation of the picture. I was able to (somewhat) draw most things in the picture and if I found something that didn't fit or went well I would remove it to make sure my drawing fit the perspective I chose to draw. Something I could work on for the future would be being more careful when drawing and making sure that everything is proportional to the image I chose to draw.

Invisible Cities - Octavia

Overall I think my group created a good representation of the invisible city Octavia. Although we didn't use much linear perspective in our overall piece, I definitely learned how to work with watercolor better, and also how to draw spiders which I had never drawn before. My team also worked a bit with negative space as can be seen with the gondola windows and the snowy mountains. Over the course of this project my drawing skills have definitely improved especially with the consistent drawing of the gondolas, and also the spiders. Something I enjoyed about this project was the aspect of collaboration, it was interesting to see how groups would work together and divide the group work. Another thing that was interesting was the small disagreements my group had and how we managed to overcome them and learn from them. Something I would do differently would be to spend less time contemplating how to start. I think once a group member takes the initiative to begin to draw, ideas instantly begin to rise and flow, which then allows for collaboration amongst the group.

Unit 3 - Values

During day 4 I finished my drawing with all 5 techniques being used. I used hatching for the vase, cross-hatching for the spoons, stippling for the eggs, scumbling for the table, and blending for the background. After putting into use Ms. Evans feedback of making my scumbling smaller it allowed me to better represent the difference in values as can be seen from each of the corners of the table. I also drew the shadows of the eggs with the scumbling as I didn't want the stippling to interfere with the scumbling. Something I would change for next time would be to take up more space with the drawing itself (the table) and leave less negative space to be filled in. I think because I had so much negative space less emphasis was placed on the drawing and more on the background. Overall I am impressed with my drawing as I was able to effectively use all 5 techniques to represent difference in values, 1 being the lightest and 10 being the darkest tone.

Albrecht Durer: Recreating Through Grid Drawing

Overall I think I impressed myself with this project. At the beginning I didn't think I was going to be able to draw this complex part of a bigger project, however, after drawing the first few grid boxes in I realized it wasn't that bad and that I just needed to focus, be precise, and make sure to include all the details. I think my project came out surprisingly good, I think this is primarily because I was really focused when completing this piece of art and I have to say it's probably the best piece of art I have completed this year.

A.I Generated Illusions

After assembling my piece I realized I forgot to really highlight the illusion effect (my illusions was the 4 squares) so I went back and somewhat highlighted each side to make it more obvious that the drawing was split in four. Overall I think with the time given, I am content with this art piece. I also successfully used 3 layer pieces and 4 of the unit 3 skills (texture as value, shading techniques, shading geometric/organic forms, lighting techniques). I tried representing my A.I image for the most part however the A4 paper wasn't big enough to capture the sides of the image. Something I would do differently would be to really try to capture every detail and also maybe grid the paper so that being accurate becomes way easier and I can focus on other intricate parts of the drawing.
