He loves sports especially soccer.

-Brandon is an active individual, he participates in club soccer at UMD.
He shared with me the story of how he sprained his ankle at a practice. The coaches did not think anything of it. He made the decision to see a doctor after a week. They let him know that he had a sprained ankle

- He rarely visits the health center. But when he did he mentioned the experience was okay.

-For him UMD does not encourage health and wellness as much as they should.

When we asked him why he had not gone to see the doctor, he replied that it was too costly, and that his cold did not seem to get any worse, but rather better.

3.) What could be improve to make you want to see a doctor?
- He firmly wants single payer health insurance. He believes that healthcare is too expensive. He also felt that visiting the UMD Health Center was likes, "going to visit a high school nurse in the health room".

4.) Does UMD make health a priority in your opinion?
-He felt that the University does not place a high priority on student health (physical or mental). Rather, he felt that various student clubs/organizations contribute more to making student health a priority rather then UMD does. He even stated that he is active in various organizations on campus. He has been able to collaborate with organizations such as CARE. - When asked about whether he has heard about health/wellness outreach he mentioned the international student stress management services.

-He does make use of the University Health Center. He often goes to get immunizations. He mentioned that overall he appreciates the service that they provide

- He would want to eliminate copays. In addition, he felt that the billing/charges for visiting a doctor were too complicated to understand (i.e., the billing codes).

4.) Does UMD make health a priority in your opinion?
-He felt that the University does not place a high priority on student health (physical or mental). However, he did note that the Health Center does leave out ice cold water when the temperature outside is dangerously hot.

5.) Are you familiar with any health/wellness programs available to you at UMD?
-He was only familiar with counseling services offered at UMD to students. When we asked her why she had not gone to see the doctor, she replied that her cold was not severe enough to warrant a visit.

3.) What could be improve to make you want to see a doctor?
- She said that it depends on the situation. She only visits the doctor if her health condition (i.e., cold or injury) progressively gets worse as time goes on. That was her philosophy on how to maintain her health.

4.) Does UMD make health a priority in your opinion?
-She felt that the University does place a high priority on student health (physical or mental). She recalls a moment when the University required her to get all her vaccinations, otherwise her class would have been dropped. However, she was unaware the UMD has a health center that is fully staffed with doctors, nurses, and P.A.'s.

5.) Are you familiar with any health/wellness programs available to you at UMD?
-She was aware of any health programs available to her at UMD because she is a commuter student. She felt that being a commuter student did not allow her to become aware of the programs available.

Aj21t5 https://padlet.com/612miha/teamiHLSA484/wish/194526786 _{During our past interviews with strangers around campus, our group found out that the majority of our University constituents did not like to go to the University Health Center when faced with a medical issue, no matter how simple or complex the issue was. When asked why, we received two main responses: (1) It’s too expensive and (2) The health center is too outdated and ugly. In order to solve these issues, part of our idea was to create a brand new medical facility that was not only architecturally modern and aesthetically attractive, but also a state of the art, full service treatment center that was self-sufficient (i.e., a green facility). We wanted to create a health center that primarily focused on being a “healing environment” that takes into account all aspects of medical environment, treatment, and cost into consideration in order to make their patients healthier and happier. In addition, since the majority of our interviewees said that it was too expensive to visit the health center, our group decided to try an innovative approach that would allow prospective patients to trade a service (i.e., barter) for the healthcare services that they were in need of. However, prototyping these solutions was very difficult. First, how is it possible to prototype a state-of-the-art medical facility? That was our biggest challenge, and we struggled with trying to paint a picture of the most impressive medical center because we relied heavily on the imagination of those that we were testing our prototype on. Yet, we really received great feedback and ideas with regards to bartering for medical services. Even so, we struggled with what specific services that a patient could exchange with the University Health Center for medical treatment because the type of jobs/services that one could perform for the health center/University is still obscure.}

-Wanted to see more privacy during "check- in"... Gave example of a personal reason to see doctor (like genital warts or something personal along those lines)... Also reiterated that he does not have genital warts (insisted that we included that in notes..)

- Doesn't like how his conversation can be "broadcasted" during check-in. Not like that at private clinic/practice.

-Wants to make simplistic billing without complicated billing codes and lingo.

-Wants to be able to defer payment to student account.}
