Today we wanted to learn more about Thanksgiving, so our class prepared pumpkin bread, apple pie, turkey sandwiches, cake pops, and other themed snacks. We also made a big Thanksgiving turkey decorated with “I am thankful for…” feathers.

Thank you for our treats! We enjoyed tasting everything!

Polish Christmas Eve Feast

In Poland every family gathers on Christmas Eve to feast together. At school we also celebrate it with our classmates. We exchanged presents and ate traditional holiday snacks.

Ola and Ala celebrated Three Kings Day (Día de los Reyes Magos) in Spanish class.

On Three Kings Day, children put their shoes under the Christmas tree and wait for the Three Kings to bring them presents. Families gather to enjoy a meal of tamales, hot chocolate, and "Rosca de Reyes" or King´s Cake. The cake has a couple of surprises hidden in it, and it is always exciting to see who will find the baby. The person who gets the baby has to give a party on February 2nd.

Thank you for the holiday cards and the two little rhinos! We loved them!

What a wonderful surprise to come back to school after our holidays and find a package from you! The cards were so beautiful, and the two little rhinos were an extra treat! We will add them to our classes so they can spend time with Ola and Ala!

This week, we celebrated a very important person: Martin Luther King. He fought for human rights and for everyone to be treated fairly, regardless of their skin color.

Martin Luther King Jr. fought for equality so that all people would have the same rights and be treated fairly. He worked to end racism by leading peaceful marches and giving powerful speeches. We celebrate him in the USA to remember his dream of a fair and just world for everyone. At school, we get together to celebrate and learn about his life, and to reflect on how we can make the world a better place for everyone.

We celebrated Groundhog Day. An American tradition to predict whether winter will last 6 more weeks or whether we will have warmer weather soon. Ola, Ala, and Kamil had a great time celebrating with us.
